I'm new to this game, so this may be a silly question.....but it seems like a bug to me. I have played through several of the beginning stories and just started a Dwarven Warrior from the casteless section. In the opening scene I'm chatting with my sister and in the room is a chest that is sparkling so I go over and try to open it with right click on the mouse(PC). I get the symbol for chest, and the character occasionally says something about getting right on it, but absolutely nothing happens. With my other characters I'd occasionally find a chest or door I couldn't open, but the game would TELL me that I didn't have the skill or something. In this case I don't get any reason....just a complete lack of response from the game. Is this a bug or am I missing something basic?

There are two chests in that room:
* Chest containing random loot.
* Chest containing random loot. Locked for 30 XP.
[Dragon Age Wikia]
So perhaps it's the 2nd chest that you can't open.
But as you can see it's all random loot so you won't miss anything important.

There is definitely only one chest in the room. Must be a mistake on the wikia. I'll try it again when I get 30 XP.

That one is buggy. You have to get very close to it, maybe as close as possible, before clicking on it to open it.

There's some chests that requires exact positioning of your character to be able to open them. If you don't stand in the right spot the character doesn't get to the chest, like there's some invisible wall blocking the access. This could be one such case. Try standing in different places (preferable as close as possible to the chest) when clicking on the chest.
