I was wondering if it is possible to play the DLC when you start origin in offline mode and you have no internet connection.

How? Every time I try it says cannot register DLC. This happens with both no and slow internet connections. If you have managed, please could you post details?

I simply start Origin in offline mode then play the game.

That doesn't always work because the game can still attempt to connect online while playing in Origin offline mode. Sometimes you need to completely unplug your PC from the internet.

No, EA would have to release a patch that would remove online authentication before turning down DLC servers

I've tried that and I didn't get a message stating that my DLCs can't be verified but when I play the game I notice that NONE of my DLCs are available.

I believe they have to validated or authenticated at last once in online mode.
Have you done so?

The problem with Origins offline mode is that, even in offline mode, the damn thing still tries to do an online authentication if it detects that you have an internet connection or an active wired\\wireless internet adapter powered up.

This can become a problem for those of us who have a crappy ISP that goes down often.

Example my internet goes down i fire up origin in offline mode, launch the game but none of my DLC will authorize.

However if i close ME3 and Origin down, power down my wireless internet adapter\\dissconnect any wired connections to a network and turn off the adapter -- then relaunch the game it authorizes no problem

Hmm, clearly a bug.
Is this widely reported?

I don't think its a bug i think its the way they designed Origin to work :innocent: like how they designed the Journal\\Codex ingame to be next to useless.

They want you connected to the internet sending game play data and who know's what elsethrough Origin --  this is EA whose original download manager acted as spyware from what i understand.

I always play it the way i outlined above now, less hassel, only go online with the game for updates\\patches or to download new content.

It doesn't seem to work for me - I switched Origin into offline mode and even disabled wifi but I'm still getting no connection to the ea servers error and none of the dlc's get authenticated.

Close Origin down completely.  I.E. make sure its closed in the system tray and not just minimized.  I.E.go into the tray, right click on the origin icon and click on "exit"

THEN dissconnect from the net and power down your wifi

launch the game from the MASS EFFECT 3 desktop icon not from orogin, works everytime for me.

Tried that many times. Still says all my DLCs aren't verified... got it to work on another computer to verify the game then I attempt to try it on my own machine again and it once again tells me my DLCs aren't verified.

Lately, if I go offline? I am unable to load the EC, the new DLC (Leviathan) and Ashes, if I am not connected. And this is while a game is in progress. *shrugs*

I have this problem too. Literally the worst DRM system I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with.

Be thankful you've never used Impulse or had the misfortune to install a game with StarForce, then. Origin's issues are nothing compared to those.
