When playing ME2, I prefer not to have certain DLC pop up until later in the game (Arrival being the obvious example, which I generally want to leave for after the suicide mission). So what I generally do is remove the specific folder for the DLC I want to delay from the BioGame > DLC directory and put it somewhere else, then move it back when I'm ready to play it.

Will the same thing work for ME3 DLC? I see that there is again a BioGame > DLC directory with separate folders for each DLC. However, each of them only seems to have one subfolder with one file, which made me wonder if there are other files containing DLC content and, in turn, if I'd be risking crashing the game by only removing the folders in the BioGame > DLC directory.

Yes and no.

The file is actually the dlc. Instead of just putting it in easy-to-read folders, they have compressed it into one file and encrypted it or something. Removing this Uninstalls the DLC. The game will not crash if you do this as this is the same as removing the folder in ME2 - I've tried this myself.

The "no" part I mentioned earlier is because every time I removed the folder for the DLC, it did indeed uninstall BUT origin detected there was DLC registered to my account but not installed so it proceeded to start downloading it again automatically.

If you delete/move the correct DLC folder with origin completely closed, pause the redownload of it when you restart origin and lauch Mass Effect 3, you should be able to play without the DLC.

I hope this helps. If anyone knows a better way, please post.

Thanks. I'll be giving that a try with Leviathan next time I start a new import for ME3.
