Well, I suppose that´s true... Though it´s really sad to have such a one-sided view of good and evil in a game. (This was one of the bad things in LotR Imo, too.) We should have at least the option to capture and question one of them, so one might learn more about them......
Still, there is something lacking: a reason why they want to kill you... I mean, it is really stupid. Even if they are as bad and stupid as you say, its simply idiotic to kill everyone, because they will starve without food, and will be unable to create more broodmothers, so won´t grow in numbers anymore.... Wiping out humanity, the dwarfes and the elves would mean destroying what allows them to live......

I agree that if this is what the darkspawn want, then it's stupid.
Hopefully Bioware can give them, or at least the Archdemons, some sort of motivation.

Likewise, if the Reapers from Mass Effect do this just to harvest organics, then I would be dissapointed. There was something philosophical about Sovereign.

Why does there have to be a motivation? To justify evil? Why can't it be the way it is because that's the way it is? If lore is to be taken at face value, then greed and lust for power were what caused them to come into being anyway. They entered the Golden City, tainted it with their sin, and were cast back to Thedas warped by their own twisted desires. This is, of course the Chantry version, but it is the only version offered up as lore as to the origin of the darkspawn. If you need a motivation, how about revenge against the Maker for exacting such a punishment?
