The teamwork.  Maybe it's triggering biotic explosions or tech bursts, or covering someone while they do objectives, or crouching behind the barriers shoulder to shoulder with your squadmates, guns ripping through waves of Reapers...  Good times.

Thanks for asking Derek.

What makes MP fun for me:

I enjoy the way the match is formatted; ten waves and an extraction; lots of action and done in roughly 15 minutes.

I also enjoy playing some of the different characters and weapons and it's a blast to hook up with a good team.

It's also fun to (virtually) blow stuff up.

What ruins MP fun:

Crap weapons and characters I don't want to/can't play.  Disconnects on wave 10.  Lag.  Glitches.  Bugs.

Being stuck in cover when trying frantically to move.  Unable to take cover when trying frantically to do so.

The friggen trolling store.  I like the game and playing with the good weapons and gear.  As a regular, mostly Bronze level player since the demo, I still don't have a Harrier and most of the other URs.

The co-opness... I love team work, when I find them... Oh, and playing as other races. Sometimes, I get tired of playing as a human, so playing as an alien is refreshing. And there are also the weapons... So much fun!

Powers, and in particular combos, are what separate it from other games. Working together to cause more mayhem is very different from games where you operate as a team of rambos with a shared goal.

Well, I personally like the rpg aspect. When Shepard tells the asari commando on Thessia that she needs to stay and fight it makes me wanna roleplay her in MP and wreak havok with her biotics. Also I've always wanted to play as an asari since ME2, and this allows that.

I also like the introduction of new powers, it allows you to change and experiment with new tactics on the battlefield.

What I reeeaalllly would like is a biotic grab that tosses the enemy in the direction you are moving the mouse/thumbpad. Maybe if it had a 3 second max duration to hold the enemy (or until you release the button/trigger).

I also would like protheans. If somebody does not want protheans, they do not have to play as them. But don't dictate somebody else's experience just because it's not what you want.

I also would like a fast moving, melee focused character. Adept, vanguard, or infiltrator would work wonderfully for these. Give it dominate and while the enemies are focused on killing the indoctrinated enemy you can run in quick, melee, jump out quick when the aggro is on you, let them refocuse on the enemy, and finish off the rest. It would be, as they say, smashing!

What makes MP the most enjoyable for me is blowing the **** out of things in exceedingly entertaining ways. It's nice to feel powerful. This is why a Claymore to the face for a OHK is awesome. All the combos are great, although BEs are the best ones because of the truly gratifying boom sound they make. That is fun. Tech Bursts are less fun, because it's difficult to even know when they're happening.

Co-op is in the definition. It's MP. This wouldn't be fun for me solo.

I like that Multiplayer lets me try out new things that I otherwise wouldn't. I played the first Mass Effects as a soldier (in multiple playthroughs) because I was unfamiliar with biotics and their uses/details/combos/whatever. The mp (specifically the demo) let me try out new classes that I previously ignored in a single game or evening whereas a full trial in single player would have taken me a week of free time (to level shepard properly to the point where the powers were respectable).

In addition, the multiplayer allows me to play races that aren't available in SP due to the exclusively human race of Cmdr Shepard.

The next step I think would be to integrate a weekly episodic mission using the multiplayer characters complete with cutscenes and an overall continuing plot (ala the Halo Spartan Ops details released).   It would use the same assets already available in  MP and maintain the RPG coop feel (as opposed to a versus MP mode).  It would also keep people from trading in the game to gamestop as well as making players pop in the disc for an evening (and possibly buy RNG packs) months after the game is old news.  That I would pay for!

Being able to play as a bunch of different Characters and the ability to change the appearances of those characters. Trying out new weapons is also nice.

Playing with friends and having "epic" moments.  An example of this: when Earth first came out, my friends and I were playing a gold game on Rio.  We hadn't been doing too well earlier, but that game we made it to 10 and were hoping for an easy objective; nope, escort drone down the middle passage across the map to the extraction zone.  Leading the drone through waves of Cerberus as a Batarian Soldier was awesome - explode ALL the things.

The combat style is just really fast, fluid, and satisfying. When you press a button something awesome happens. The character/race combinations are distinct and require different play styles to really shine. It's just full of little details and quirks that I find intellectually satisfying to delve into.

Plus it allows me to continue to enjoy one of my favourite IPs.

The exclusive powers in multiplayer that are 20 times cooler than anything Shepard will ever have, and experimenting with totally obscure or strange builds.

Meeting new people and "gelling" into a solid team in a PUG -- or not, and playing rez-tag in the LZ. Cooperating with strangers -- I love the hack circle and drone escort objectives.
Being able to customize abilities, loadout and appearance.
Listening to the awesome voicework. Krogan and Vorcha FTW! Also, Jen Hale!
The moment when a Nemesis gets meleed by a Krogan and flies screaming off the map.
The sounds of the weapons and explosions.
Being able to play as a Turian. (FemTurian Engineer, please!)

-Unique characters, each character in a class plays differently which keep things interesting.
- Wide variety of weapons we have guns that shoot grenades, harpoons, spikes, lightning, etc.

Teamwork, diversity of builds, weapons and maps. Enjoy finding people who also enjoy the game. Still enjoy it as much as at launch. The weapons are really fun, but the complicated effort to get a build that you are successful with is very interesting. I probably spent 6 reset cards on the shadow before I got the most effective build for me.

I mainly like that it's fairly teamwork oriented. It's what draws me to a game like this. I enjoy games that have similar features (i.e. Left 4 Dead), so the MP was a no-brainer to me.

Playing with friends and unlocking stuff is a lot of fun. I'm lucky enough where I still have a group I play with even now, so long after release.

Honestly very little at the moment.

It's not that anything is bad. It controls well, the classes and variations in those are well done, weapons all have their place.

Yet it also has become swiftly repetitive. It's a horde mode at the end of the day and while that is fun, all it is is a horde mode. The new objective types added a shot in the arm but it wasn't enough to keep my interest in playing.

Now I only play if a friend wants to do a few rounds. It isn't something I find myself wanting to play off my own back.

If I'm honest? Team AreleX. The game is getting stale Derek, without an actual AI change and addition of new Enemies and possible a new game mode I doubt I'll be playing this game after Borderlands 2 is released.

Teamwork. I'd say "with friends", but every now and then randoms can have decent team-synergy. Also, the N7 characters (esp. the Shadow, the Paladin, and the Destroyer).

Primary one for me is playing with a great group of friends who I didn't know before playing ME3 MP and its the main reason that keeps me playing. Also character diversity with different builds is another positive for me.

I like to make little "stories" for my characters.
