The RPG elements. The teamwork. The unlocks and customization options. The different power combinations you get. The fact that no two games will go exactly the same way, and the anticipation of new DLC.

I don't play for the rewards. I've played enough MMOs to know in the long run I'm in it for the fun with people and fond memories of playing late at night. I can't mount that Scorpion X on my wall, as much as I'd like too.

It's also for the lore. I enjoy Mass Effect's story, and the species. So sure, the power, the tech they use also contributes. But there are "other" games with soldiers in shielded armor and AI buddies fighting hordes in space. ME has a distinct flavor, one I like, and enjoy with friends.

That makes it fun for me.

- the variety...from the characters & powers to the weapons, and everything in between...it's great to be able to be in full control of other character species, instead of just telling them when/what to use like in sp.....dont take that the wrong way though, dont touch sp, let me play as shepard and shepard only in sp

- it's a good stress reliever...when having a stressful day, it's very relaxing to grab a drink, breakout a strong character setup, and leave some bodies on the floor...especially geth, banshee, and phantom bodies

- the co-op aspect...i enjoy co-op more then competitive multi-players, so the setup of it is great to me...

....if it wasnt for not letting me unlock a typhoon nor getting weapon upgradess in a timely manner, i'd say yall have done a damn good job bw lol...just kidding..yall have a damn good job, keep it up...

The only other multiplayer game I've gotten into has been Dark Souls. The pvp in DS can be both infuriating and exhilarating, but it was the co-op that I ended up loving, especially helping out with the crazy, tough bosses and cheap invaders. Getting to have a great co-op experience in the Mass Effect universe was something I didn't expect to get out of ME3. I only wish that it had more integration with the single player campaign.

Individual class variety and team combos. Also, I am one of the few who likes the RNG store so unlocking stuff (or more often not) was fun for me.

The lore, the characters, the voice acting, the teamwork, some weapons. Also fun gameplay when the enemies behave as "they should"

This^ and getting to play with skillful, decent and fun people.
Also wanting to take this opportunity and give a shout to my fellow Legionnaires, you guys rock!

I like trying out all the different characters and how they play the most. But what bothers me is that there are a lot of issues with dcing from EA's servers now that seem to be being ignored. Have you guys got any help for us with that?

Could be Derek if he was XB...:)

ME has been on my favorite RPG from day one, and I only play RPG and until ME3 only SP.

It has been a lot of fun playing, honestly what really makes the game for me at this stage is the friends, mainly from BSN that I run with.

There are four in the group that are really tight, we do out of the box gold runs often with characters that many may not run at this level, often use guns that are considered not a true gold/plat gun....it's a lot of fun...for example take four Krogans on reactor/gold with an understanding all Boxx enemies must be taken out using Melee only

We did a fun run a few nights ago on Rio, all QE's against Geth....and we pulled it off with full extraction:)

Pretty much everything everybody stated already. I also love the feel and look of the game. It feels fun to play. However I think the random matchmaking could be better because getting connect to a person halfway across the world causes some weird lag and glitches (enemies vaulting in mid air and appearing behind you + bad hit detection). There's so many good things about this game that I hope the kinks get worked out sooner than later so it can be as good as it can be.

The characters and powers are just so good (when they work and don't lag). Gotta love all the different combos and ragdoll physics.

Finding new ways to play a character and not being told/forced to play a certain way is what's so appealing to me. Can't think of a co-op tactical shooter with so many options, variables and emergent gameplay as ME3 MP.

It isn't competitive.

I like collecting the weapons/gears and trying different builds, it's thrilling to open a PSP even if most of the time it doesn't bring any N7.

I think simply having a means of replayability. Being able to play the game for its combat within the universe and have some form of progression within it. It's a bit different from having to slog through single player and experience the same parts of the story in the same order, each time.

1 - The characters

2 - The powers

3 - The weapons

4 - The enemies

5 - The maps

However, more of the first three will not be enough to keep the game interesting. We need new game modes and enemies.

For me it's a variety of things, and the way they work togerther.

When I'm in a match, I just love the way the guns handle, and I really like using powers to ragdoll enemies. When Phoenix Vanguard first came out I couldn't stop giggling when using Lash. Setting off power combos and watching the enemy forces melt before me is just fun. I like how powerful these can make me feel, and I like the variety of options.  Outside of matches, I enjoy the customization. I'd enjoy this more if more builds worked well, but I do enjoy picking out power evolutions and weapons for a kit. And I really love working together with a team, especially with friends. Anything that deepens the co-op aspect is good by me.

I love the little touches. The way vorcha shout "HELPING" when reviving people, and their crazy animations. I love the krogan. I like the little voice the drone has (it's kinda cute!). The sound the Kishock makes when it fires, and the way it ragdolls killed enemies. I love the way all these things come together. Playing with the paladin's shield is just fun and rewarding.

And the people matter too. The involvement of the people from Bioware in the forums and on the blogs helps me care more about this franchise. I care about the lore because I know you care about the lore (and it happens to be really cool lore that facilitates nice gameplay). I can't say I'd care as much if all I could see was the faceless EA monolith.

Everything. the powers, the weapons, the class, the maps, even the store keeps me playing.

When I first heard about Multi-Player in Mass Effect 3 I never thought it would be so fun.

Thank you for making such a great game and keep up the good work

Variety of viable, interesting classes and weapon combinations which play and feel very distinct keeps it fun for me.

After having played since the demo, more variety in game modes and a new enemy faction or just new enemies added to the existing factions would be nice of course.

What is not so nice: The totally random store system. I'd would not start playing the game now probably, because there would just be so much to unlock, and the chance of upgrading and/or getting the stuff you'd like to try would be miniscule.

I do not mind a bit of randomness, but you should at least be able to somewhat target the things you want better (say, Earth PSP, Weapon Spectre Pack, Character Spectre Pack). The drop rates for Gear especially are driving me insane, when you buy yet another pack with only consumables and are still missing so many upgrades. If you started out at this point and really wanted to try, say, the Destroyer, chances are you might be playing for months before getting him, at least if you are a somewhat casual gamer.

The answer to that is complex.

Multi-player has offered me the chance to meet, and make friends with people ALL OVER the world.  Many times when I'm playing a MP xbl game, I'm locked into a region server only.  Thank you for not doing this.

I get to try new builds with people being much more acceptable to unconventional ways to murder people, lets me and my friends set personal challenges and requirements per-mission to keep it fresh.   I would love to see this encorporated as perhaps a daily challenge offering a 1-4% bonus to Credit payout permatch played and successfully extracted as an incentive?

and finally being able to work with other people, whether we talk or not, and not have to be totally concerned with a douche ruinning the gaming experience for you (no friendly fire currently).   m

I've been a fan since ME first released. It was always cool to have a team of alien races to have on your squad. Multiplayer finally let me be one.

The fact that this multiplayer evolved from a single player game known to have great depth of character & for being extremely well written naturally gives amazing context to the multiplayer characters. That isn't often easy to find in online gaming of this type.

Games like Battlefield & Call of Duty offer fun competitive gameplay but provide playable characters that noone relates to or cares about. Then they seem compelled to needlessly include campaign/single player options that just end up being story-less story modes.

Headshots are fun.

Majority of the skill trees are fun. The evolutions are meaningful and lead to different types of builds.

Gold is still a decent challenge and platinum is when I play with close friends for extra challenge.

The guns do have some variety and uniqueness. Mods also help with personalizing loadouts.

I like the random character voices in between waves, alerting mob types.

Vorcha

Completing manifest is fun.

Claymore.

Headshots are extra fun.

Co-op, that's the best part, then the many weapons, consumables, characters let you try out so many different teams set up, differents team synergy (the more unexpected it is the funnest it is)

even if we're saying bad things about the devs, and we are right to do so, because there are glitches that have been standing there for too long, we can't deny that they are very invovled in the support of the game, balance changes are some nice fresh air

then, since you asked what makes it fun for us, i assume it would be nice to say what's killing, so you change that for your next games

what's killing the fun of the MP is definitely RNG 1st
you kind of saw that coming, since the fun comes from the large amount of different set up you can try out and enjoy, RNG is a real bia.tch to the average player since it limits him so much( i know many many players who quit because of RNG), and still very annoying for hard core gamers

i've been enjoying MP more lately (because i finally have most of the stuff), than i enjoyed it the 1st month (when i played the most) and there's definitely something wrong with that,

then the 2nd thing killing MP is how repettitive it is, i won't get bored, but i understand people getting bored once they've tried all the set up they could come up with ( there are a lot of stuff you can try that's true), it needs more differents factions, and other modes
