Several reasons, in fact.

1- The fact that it's solely a co-op game. I hate PvP.
2- Different character builds and loadouts play very differently.
3- The opportunity to play as several different species.

These about sum it up :)

The question comes down to what is it that you find most enjoyable about Mass Effect 3 Multi-Player?

Playing with friends.

Is it the powers?

Yes, powers are fun.

The weapons?

Weapons are a constant source of annoyance. The ones which feel good are too weak. The ones which are strong enough often don't feel good. You never get the Ultra Rares that you want. If you finally get them they have already been nerfed too much. And I"m still unhappy that because of the cheap Krysae Sniper Rifle the Tactical Cloak power got nerfed.

The races?

Races used to be fun. But the N7 Characters have upset the balance. The Asari e.g. used to have the coolest evasive manoeuvre. But the Fury's teleport tops that. Krogans used to be tough kids on the block. But the N7 Destroyer has rendered obsolete (without being half as much fun).

Combos are the thing that got me hooked. Nothing like detonations.

definitely the powers/combo's and stylish character design, weapons are pretty straightforward, you shoot at things, and gears of war/halo is for shooting things in a horde mode. it's the power's that give the game variety and class-differences. In fact i hate that with most classes i have some go-to weapons and don't allow me to customize quite that much because of cooldown. Every caster uses a pistol (occasional SMG), every cooldown-independent class uses a power shotgun. Assault rifles and snipers are barely touched (except for turrian/N7 soldier) due to low damage output compared to weight, and sniper one-shots suck because of shield gate and huge amount of dps lost when you miss a shot.

Which brings up another point. I wouldn't mind having vanguards without charge, infiltrators without cloak, etc. The engineers/adepts/soldiers give great examples of when classes can have much larger variety, vanguards and iniltrators just don't feel that different because of how similar the playstyles are within the class

The same reason I played World of Warcraft for 5 years and pretty much only ran 5 man dungeons.

I like to team up with random people and see what happens. Can we pull it together and win despite not knowing each other? Will we just be totally horrible and get massacred? Will we have a 'that guy' that we will all go post about on the forums later?

Playing with friends is fun too, but I have to be honest PUGing it up is where I have the most fun.

I got to agree with this. PUGs are fun stuff, even more fun when everyone is talking.

Win or Lose it's great to hook up and have a good time, which is why I play. I don't take it too seriously, I swear more at the Origin Store for giving me crap then in a match. On the other side of that the game it too fun. I thought it would wear off, but it keeps pulling me back in. Sure its the same enemies and I use the same classes, but there's just something about it all.

What makes multi fun for me is BEING ABLE TO PLAY IT which currently I am not thanks to BioWare/EA. Good job at removing the only good thing about this game. If you don't want buyers to play your games, be courageous enough to state it outwardly instead of delivering unfinished products and then blocking off their functions.

Probably the variety of play styles available. I'd probably have stopped playing a while ago, but every time things start to get stale, I can look through my list of unlocked characters to see if I can think up any good strategies, or play around with gear/mod/ammo/weapon combos in that manifest calculator to see if there are any powerful weapon possibilities I'm overlooking.

I was thinking about checking out that new TF2 horde mode, but last I checked that game had less than a quarter of the available classes, with no way to customize the abilities or weapons available to them.

Playing with the game mechanics and become incredibly efficient at beating the mobs and/or winning in any situation.

New guns/races/power combos keeps it interesting because it is something new to master.

Not fun: stunlock mechanic

The variety of build options and tactics is what I find to be the most enjoyable. Snipping was fun when Geth Primes had headshots but...yeah...

Playing as different races, then playing with a team of those races that work together.
But mostly the co-op element.

The number of power rank combinations that define the overall play style of a given character.

Sure, weapon mods and equipment are nice, but since those must be bought and unlocked for maximum effectiveness, it is still convenient to reset characters and essentially play the game all over again by trying or mixing branch A over B in a particular power and then mindfully speccing it in conjunction with another power branch.

The feeling of immersion.
Literally screaming "FOR TUCHANKA!" as a krogan while I plow through an army.
The satisfaction of batarian-punching a cannibal (try regrowing YOUR FACE!).
And of course, piling on every melee bonus I've got and slicing through gold as a shadow.

Banter! Playing for virtual money to buy virtual stuff would get dull fairly quickly otherwise.

I'm sorry that this is going to make some people mad, but I really don't find mass effect 3 multiplayer fun.

BioWare You created a game that is only meant for people who have either no life, or way too much time on their hands. A majority of the weapons are weak, some of the enemies are ridiculous, and not fun to fight. And the cover system is flawed.

I don't play the game anymore, a match takes way too long, the sense of accomplishment is lacking, and the rewards are in my opinion one big slap in the face.

The way you did half the stuff in the game just doesn't flow with me, I feel like I wasted my time. I came from each session with no sense of accomplisment. I like the mass effect universe, but ME3 is just a tremendous step backwards in comparison to ME2. Like for example the cover system in ME3 is worse then ME2, and downright annoying. You go to take cover and you end up poping back up again, or you try to position yourself for a better shot at the enemy and you end up either coming out of cover or mysteriously die for no logical reason. The weapons have no power to them besides the Talon, and the store is the equivalent of a jackpot machine.

If I want something, I want to EARN IT not keep my fingers crossed that I get lucky.

The only thing I think you guys get right is the "Operation" weekends you do, but half the time I just don't bother because the game isn't worth it to me.

If you could improve two things about the game that would make me play it again? Give me a way to work and earn my stuff without having to rely on a ridiculous store that randomly determines what you get. and make the combat and weapon play in this game more enjoyable.

Hell, take some ideas from Halo, they know how to make a fun ass game mode.

Mr Hollan, I love Mass Effect.  The universe, the lore, the characters, everything.  I loved it from the moment I played the first mission on Eden Prime.  And from the very beginning, I always wished I could play as an Asari, or a Quarian, or a Krogan... and that's what multiplayer gives me.

I love the missions, I love that the games are short, I love that I have met some truly awesome people that I never would have had the chance to meet otherwise, I love the anticipation of the operation weekends, I love doing the operation weekends, and even better, successfully completing the operation weekends, and then even enjoying the punishments (extended extraction time, freaky Banshee pop-ups etc) when we don't manage to complete the goal successfully.  I love saving up credits for the next DLC even when no new DLC has been announced!  I love the fact that it is a co-op game, and I get to work with my awesome friends to kick some nekkid Reaper booty.  I love the thrill of a tough game that we win, or the super near-misses where we get murdered 3 seconds before extraction.

<snippety-snip-snip>

And this!!  The immersion.  I get nervous.  My heart pounds.  (Especially when everyone else has karked it and I am the last one alive trying to make it to the end of the wave and I know they're watching me play, and I am not all that great!! lol)  And I have recently started playing as Kroguard (I LOVE Krogans!) and it's just awesome.  One of my awesome friends and I do headbutts or heavy melees at each other.  It is just SO MUCH FUN.  I know I sound like a bit like a rabid gushing Fangrrrl but you know, can't help it.  Just love your game.  Thank you!

In short, I just Love It.  Image IPBImage IPB

Finding a game that is not fbwg, glacier. Sigh. But on a serious note I enjoy different stuff in it, mostly how badass the powers look and how the characters are made. pretty awesome stuff all around.

Best part is Races/Powers using and figuring out what setups work the best. Different style of playing with each and every class (well most).

The way it plays, the unlock system (NOT the RNG, the fact that you actually have to unlock things and the way stuff has levels), and the feel of the weapons, I would say. Also the characters look pretty neat :)

I also like having a score and confirmed kills in a PvE mode. As a PC player I don't get Halo's Firefight or campaign scoring, but I really like how they work, so ME3's version of it is good stuff for me :)

Geth suck though.

The depth. If I just wanted to kill things I'd play Halo (which I'm not bashing on, as I DO play Halo). But I want to kill things by turning myself into a ball of energy created from my body and crash into things. And then punch the ground and release a shockwave making the most annoying yell possible, but that's another story -_^
