I only have one problem with it on squadmates...it shakes the screen to oblivion if they fire it near you. Its a great rifle for yourself, but the earthquake simulation was all I could take for about 15 minutes.
You lasted 15 minutes? I gave it to James on Mars, went up against the first group of Cerberus Soldiers, then restarted the mission so I could take it from him.

It's one of those guns that should be restricted as Shepard-only, since it's remarkably ineffective in the hands of squadmates. I used it for the whole geth-quarian portion of the game on my last playthrough. Unsurprisingly, it was the best weapon I could ask for against a geth. I also found it works quite well as a crowd-control weapon, which was a pretty handy aspect in its own right.
Also, at Lvl V and above, the Adas can easily take down a Prime with 3-6 well-aimed shots. It's even better if you accompany it with Disruptor Ammo.

I choose to believe that if you were to look at the Dreadnought whilst my squad was on it, you would see the damn thing shaking everytime Shepard & Garrus were shooting things.

Indeed; I'm not a fan of how it looks, either. I guess it's supposed to be an alien weapon.N7 Lisbeth wrote...
I love the damage output and splash effect that the Addas has. I loathe the way it looks. It's simply too jarring/immersion-breaking in screenshots for me to use it.

Outside of screen shake, high concentrations of armored enemies, and cover glitching its EASILY the most effective weapon on squadmates. The damage they put out when actually hitting enemies with the Adas far surpasses any other gun in the game.
The problem with squadmates using the Adas is that sometimes they'll shoot across an area that has some sort of obstruction that will catch the "pulse blast" that the Adas shoots, meaning that all their shots miss simply because they wont aim up enough to miss the obstruction. Also the screen shake is incredibly jarring if you're playing any gun based class (Soldier and Infiltrator). Its also somewhat weak against armor, but that can be compensated by using Incendiary, Warp, or AP ammo powers. (The AP mod itself makes NO difference in regards to damage vs armor). The "area of effect" nature of each shot, and the high rate of fire make it perfect for applying ammo powers and they can deal with multiple enemies FAR better with the Adas than virtually any other gun.
Cerberus Harrier = NOT effective on squadmates because they dont fire it in "full auto" mode, instead shooting in bursts of 3-5 rounds. The Adas on the other hand they actually fire 5-15 shots per burst (each of them do more damage per shot than the Harrier as well). Ideally this SHOULD be the best squadmate weapon because squadmates have infinite ammo, but as I said already they simply dont exploit the guns fully automatic nature, making it hardly any better than them using a Vindicator.
Particle Rifle = Best squadmate weapon for anyone playing a Soldier or Infiltrator, because it doesnt shake your screen and provides good squadmate DPS, and it applies ammo powers VERY effectively. Cryo or Incediary ammo are awesome when used on squadmates carrying the Particle Rifle. Its still not as effective in terms of pure damage output compared to the Adas, but its far less jarring to the player.
*IF* you can get past the screen shake of the Adas, and make sure to buff your squadmates weapon damage + assault rifle damage, you'll find that your teammates will pratically kill all the enemies by themselves... the only missions they might struggle are those with lots of Brutes and Banshees (mostly because the squad AI is really stupid at times, and the fact its least effective against armor).
*SPOILER WARNING*
A good mission to test and try out weapons on squadmates is Samara's mission at the Ardat Yakshi monastery. During the mission after the first battle with a Banshee there is a weapon bench in one of the rooms where you can save the game right before your second Banshee fight. Here you can quickly load up different weapon tests to watch your squadmates use various weapons (and take the high ground to get a good view).

Lol, I did the same thing. I seriously hope they never bring this gun to MP.
