you have to be connected to there server to use them
Although that is certainly how it appears, the moderator is correct. A continuous online connection is not required to play, even with DLC. Obviously, you need to go online to download the content the first time, but as long as you acquire the necessary licenses on your drive, the game does not need to connect to the DA servers every time you play.
Details about this issue can be found here:

yes but some people do not check message boards and have no clue what the problem is.....I had a couple of friends who returned the game to GameStop because of this problem and were really mad when I told them how to fix it

I share the sentiment that the promotional DLC was clumsily handled. The fact that there is a solution does not excuse the fact that this should never have been an issue in the first place. As mentioned, it gives users the distinct impression that a connection to the DA servers is required to play a game with no online interactivity.

The EA staff on their web chat are pretty helpful. They may be able to get the problem fixed faster. Failing that, create a new EA account :innocent:
in some cases creating a new account is considered "ban evasion"

Well if you have a save game that has a dlc item in it like the memory band the game will not let you load your save game. i have to constently tell my wife to get off the computer hook up my eathernet cable to my xbox load DA:O save game then unplug cable so my wife can use the internet
That is retarded. Once you download it, it should be yours and work as long as your xbox does. Is there like a black market for Xbox DLC out there that I'm not aware of?
If it's on the hard drive it's "possible" to re-write the rights

If he's got an internet connection, he's already got a router (DSL, cable or otherwise).
It sounds as though the router he has doesn't have an integrated multi-port switch built into it. Or he's short one length of CatX cabling.
If you're going to troll, at least get the technology right...

Since when did they start making invisible routers? And who install thems? Cause I have never seen a router in my house before and I am on the internet so apparently there must be one hidden or invisible somewhere? Could it be in the floor, or in the ceiling? Or maybe it is just so tiny that I can't see it?
Could is possibly be that you can get on the internet without a router in your house? Why maybe it is! Of course that doesn't make as much sense as having an invisible (or tiny!) router.

Also sent a mail to EA asking what is going on, this is rather strange. All I can find on the internet is how you can basically get banned for anything without a proper reason. Scary, I think I won't be purchasing any EA games anymore anytime soon.
Well... they must have thought you did something terrible... what that might be who knows but it will be a tough fix if they won't tell you why.
I got banned from WoW a long time ago because somebody hacked my account and used a bot to farm gold... it took a lot of persuading (emails, forms of various kinds to fill out, sign and send back to them) with Blizzard to get back up and running again. But at least I was dealing directly with Blizzard and not the parent company which was a relief.

Irony at its best.
You don't need a router to have an internet connection. Simply a modem is good enough.

Well, actually, I wasn't able to play offline for quite awhile after I got the game and downloaded the DLC. I had to log into Xbox Live to even play the game. The problem is fixed... I think.
