It amazes me that there has been so many tools and features developed by and for NWN and NWN2 modders to use on creating their "masterpieces". It does not look like there will be a NWN3, at least not one with robust editor, so I have decided to actually put in some effort on finishing the three or four projects that I have begun but never finished.
Has there ever been a "must-have" list of scripts, tools, pre-fabs, etc. that no modder should be without?
I have picked a couple of items up on a random basis, usually on a specific need basis. But there is so much stuff out there I know I am missing some terrific apps that would aid in developing your own mods.
If there is such a list I would very much like knowing about it.
List of Must Haves for Mod Developers

Hi,
I use the following additional utilities for building my mod (some programs repeat the functions required):-
1) A 2da Editor.
2) A TLK Editor. ("Aussie")
3) "MP3 to BMU" and "Audacity" (for any sound files).
4) Tanita's NWN2 Packer v1.9. (A good all rounder.)
5) DBF Navigator (if you intend to use campaign functions).
6) Spellchecker.
7) Paint for image editing.
Sorry, but no time to search out links I'm afraid. Find most of them at the NWN Vault or by searching the web for the "famous" ones.
That's about all you need unless you intend to go into modelling, which involves more complicated progs.
Cheers,
Lance.

Mr Botelle just reminded me I only use two and they are;
Lilac Soul's Script Generator I think it's in the NWN1 files on the vault as it was built for that but still works fine on NWN2.
NWN2 Packer for making a hak out of my override when I've finished the mod.
One of the things I find most useful and time saving is the area contents tab as it enables you to select loads of things at once without finding them. For example stick torches all over the place select the lot and raise them all at the same time, then once in place turn them all into environmental objects or "plant" all your trees at once to stop them floating.

I use:
- NWN2 Packer
- DDS Converter 2
- DDS View
- MDB Cloner
- Model Viewer (64-bit version)
- Corel PhotoPaint
- The 2DA editor plugin in the toolset
I also occasionally have need of:
- MDB Snip (combining / separating multi-part models)
- MDB Tool (rotating models)
- BICtoUTC (converting PCs into NPCs)

Everyone whom I have talked to about this issue has mentioned the Power Bar for the toolset and the NWN2Packer.
Lilacsoul's script editor is amazing, even I can write scripts using it. There are some great prefabs out there and some of Kaldor Silverwand's stuff is amazing.
