Seriously, I think I've only seen it used twice, and I've played a lot.
Is it just that bad?

Personally, I wonder what kind of space magic a Nemesis does to make every single shot so powerful.
Also, I've never easily killed anything with it.

It used to be my exclusive weapon.

Then the Indra got buffed to a strength level that left the Raptor as just an afterthought.

I couldn't justify using the raptor anymore, so I stopped.

Try using it for yourself. Make sure you bring a more useful weapon, like the predator as backup.

Almost feels like the thing is healing the bad guys. Mattock deals more damage and weighs less, also doesn't suffer from the half damage when descoped thing.

The only reason to use the raptor over other semi-auto weapons is sheer stupidity or ignorance.

I like the Raptor, personally. It's a fine gun imo. Nice and lightweight, and stuff.

Augh, it's a long range Mattock with a slower ROF. Not even worth using with an Indra II in your manifest.

The Raptor has been tested, it does 85% damage unscoped. (Making it always stronger then the predator, if not more accurate.)

The Raptors real weakness is that it has a fire cap lower then its rate of fire: 400 is its max rate of fire, 550 is its stat rate of fire.

If we were to leave it at 400 RPM, and a weight of 1.0....

It would likely need to do around 143 damage scopped, and 120 unscoped in order for it to be considered a valid alternative to the lighter weight snipers of its class.

It used to be fine, however, it has been killed by power creep: A scoped, AP mattock does better then an AP+EB raptor now (WITH THE RAPTOR GETTING THE TC SNIPER BONUS.)

The Indra weighs less then both, but fires faster, and does the damage of the Raptor, To the dot.

I like how both of them attacked the T-Rex at the end of Jurassic Park, it was pretty cool.

^ that too

I would love to love this gun. It would be one of my favs if it didn't suck so much. I used it on my MQE w/ a rail amp III and god did it suck. If they give it a solid damage buff I would appreciate it.

It was the first weapon I unlocked from my veteran pack. I had nothing but level one common weapons so I went ahead and slapped the raptor onto my loadout. When the game finished, I went back to using the avenger 1 :P

The fact that he flamed a style of play, and called them ignorant for liking it shows that he is the Ignorant one.

Yes, the metagame has forgotten the fair Raptor.
However, the people who used it in the old days were both the most skilled, and most impressive players I have ever seen.

ALSO: I don't understand why cerberus would issue this to their nemesis units... Seriously, they have some pretty powerful weapons such as the harrier, talon, hornet, and mattock. You might as well give them a slinki and order them to throw them at their enemies (although the krogans, aside from the vanguard, would probably become stunlocked and fly off a cliff). If anyone does the calculations for the raptor in the hands of the nemesis, although they use it as a one-shot weapon, the upgraded variant of it must be insane.

My Guess: Raptor DCCXC (890)

I'm probably off by like 10000 Image IPB

So did I misread the part of your edit where you said the Mattock is a better gun? What could possibly make the rapor a superior weapon?

Takes mad skill to put fire on the PC's scrollwheel.

So did I until I looked at my manifest.
I thought I don't remember the Raptor assault rifle..... Oh wait, it's that sniper rifle nobody uses.

EDIT: was fun to use with a modded controller though. Still slow though.

cool on silver. feels more like a semi-auto AR with a built in scope than a sniper rifle.

have yet to try it on gold. afraid i would get kicked if i tried in a pug.

gonna play with it tonight.

on that note....i have been trying common and uncommon weapons in silver and gold as of late. havent touched them in months. Started rocking the Predator...not a bad weapon...spam the trigger for ultra fast shots...only problem is finger fatigue.

shuriken is still junk.
scimitar is a sweet piece.
mantis...havent played with that since the demo.
avenger...is okay
katana..not fan

Indeed. *sigh*

The Raptor was the first sniper rifle I ever really learned how to use. Then the Viper. Now I can pull myself through just fine with a Javelin.

MASS EFFECT 3 doesnt allow that, from my experience.

I have tried it before, I will try it again. It does not work.

The raptor was totally superior at launch day. It still is superior in SP. You should try it there.

This. It was a nice "scoped assault-rifle" for one of my krogan. Now there's the Indra which is simply an upgrade.

The only advantage it has these days is that its hipfire damage per second is 25% higher then the indras.....

(Its hipfire accuracy is half as good, however.)

It's bad for Gold/okay for Silver, but killing Nemesis with it feels gooood. I really wish our Raptor had a laser sight, though.

exactly, this is why balance is important.

OP: I used to use the raptor on my krogan sentinel... up until the indra was buffed.
now the indra is just so much better.
