Yes, the metagame has forgotten the fair Raptor.
However, the people who used it in the old days were both the most skilled, and most impressive players I have ever seen.

The raptor was totally superior at launch day. It still is superior in SP. You should try it there.

OP did not ask how the marshmellow launcher played at launch, he asked for current status on the gun, in the multiplayer forum. I have answered accordingly.

Also, if PC players can't bind to scroll, there's still this little thing called autohotkey, which allows just about anyone to turn their mouse, or any key, into an auto masher with custom click-rates. Just because the game doesn't allow it doesn't mean it isn't easily done outside of the game's code. I'd expect the cheat software check wouldn't catch something like that, just as it shouldn't catch external chat programs.

I tried that too, way back when. The game does allow you to bind fire to the scroll wheel, but you can't actually fire your weapon using it. At all.

I think Bioware really screwed the pooch when they said the Nemesis uses the Raptor.
Clearly this is not the same rifle.

Amongst the Legion players I played with back then, AHK seemed to only be used in testing. (For example, we discovered that the ROF was 400 RPM, not 550 back then.)

I did test an AHK script with the raptor in the firing range on an engineer, but the raptors firecap actually applies itself inconsistently enough to make it so it was impossible to write a script that would reliably fire it at its maximum rate of fire.

(It would skip every third shot, unless we intentionally throttled down the scripts click rate to a speed that was roughly 1/3rd of the raptors fire rate. SO YOU COULD NOT actually get the weapons full performance from a cheat script.... You could from working out your finger, for some reason. Grimy Bunyip actually caught this phenomena on tape.)

Basically : People tried to use AHK with the Raptor, but it didn't actually work too well. (IT works just fine with the Mattock, however. I uninstalled it anyhow.)

Raptor was ok before the TC "balance" and the removal of headshot dmg. Now it has fallen behind and has been neglected.

Used to see the Raptor quite a lot; usually being used as an AR rather than an SR. We just have better choices available these days I guess.

I'm not saying it was always bad, I just never had any real reason to use it after I quickly unlocked better SR's.

Currently the ARC pistol outshines it, It ACTUALLY fires at 550 RPM, has bigger mags... and does just as much damage without charging it.

Kil. Its too late to stop me from whipping out the buff sauce. (I may still be angry by having been reminded of the "Did not read" gifs existance, but.... screw it.)

The raptor should be removed and the viper Changed back to its ME2 glory. I mean common, the raptor is what ruined the viper since its very existance lead bioware to give us the crappy viper we have today despite its buffs.

I had a blast with raptor back when I first started out. Human Soldier spamming concussive shot on bronze and silver. Tossing mooks around and popping heads. I loved it in single player.

The Gold/Plat game, though, needs DPS, only a few guns seem viable to keep up.

The Mattock has it beat in pretty much every regard. I don't see a reason to use it, really.

Worst accuracy of all the snipers, you can't rely on headshots to make up for the low damage. You will get carpal tunnel from trying to get the ROF you need to do significant damage.
Viper is better in my opinion since you can consistently land headshots, and it's even a bit lighter than the Raptor.

Raptor isn't supposed to be plat viable, is an uncommon weapon, uncommons are for silver, and gold if equipment is used on them... the incisor is hardly even silver viable...

the incisor is a bronze gun, yeah you can kill crap with the incisor, but the game is twice as hard when you use it... there are only a few guns that force you to fight with their mechanics to get kills and of all of them the incisor is the worse by far.
