Finished the destroyer challenge on gold... not as bad as I was expecting but it seems that the eagle was performing much better than the raptor... so sad.

Jeez, I go play for a few hours and this thread gets even more legendary in the meantime!
And yes, I switched to the Indra and there is absolutely no reason to ever use the Raptor for any reason now. That is not good design.

Better yet, My Eagle, and Arc Pistol claims have been confirmed by a third party source (The Arc pistol claim should even be true if you have it at LEVEL 1)

My arc Pistol is at level 7. It absolutely ****s all over my raptor. Between just being generally better, the Charge damage means that I can use it for more damage on larger distracted targets.

Not to mention that you loose less DPS when on the move.

The Raptor only real advantage is manageable recoil, weight, reload and uncommon rarity. It suffers a restrictive scope that cant be improved, and a flawed existence as a consistent damage weapon,

I actually like that scope, but only because it's not the same scope that every other SR uses.

Thanks for this thread btw, inspired me to use the Raptor on Silver on my FQI and i had a lot of fun. (Not as much fun as i should have had, of course, it still needs a buff.)

I'm going to start off by saying I am NOT AGAINST a Raptor buff.

However...In my personal opinion...the Raptor was never worth using to me.
Again, that's my OPINION. Not saying anyone is wrong or right.
I AM in favor of another Locust buff...the thing was one of my favorite weapons in ME2...and I HATE SMGs with a burning passion!!!

Yes, If you want to use an Infil, use a Mantis, Widow, Black Widow, Indra, Javelin, or Kishock...and I feel like I'm forgetting one...

Leave the Raptor for the Casters, it should (IMO) be a lightweight, quickfire semi-auto. Not a super damage based weapon, but a good caster sniper weapon. Like the Viper...except a slightly different style.

The raptor holds a special place in my rankings.
One day I was just messing around with builds, and started a private bronze match with a soldier + raptor, no consumables. ~25 minutes later I had finished my first bronze solo, with a level 1 weapon I just unlocked. I was in awe. With a damage and weight buff it would be an amazingly fun weapon to bring along on many classes.

I can back up the Arc Pistol/Raptor claims. I just tried it out then. Even without charging the pistol, the faster fire rate and just all around better-ness of it makes it far preferable to something like the Raptor, where the scope makes it difficult to fight in extremely close range.

In extremely close range you should be hip-firing.

I personally think the Raptor shines......when in the hands of a Nemesis.
