While I haven't taken the time to see if this point has been brought up within the 20 pages afore this one, is it truly fair to compare an uncommon with two ultra-rares and a promotional gun?

In all honestly, I do believe some of the uncommons need revision, given I rarely see others use them. Heck, since pre-ordering the game I've never used them much (my manifest is proof enough of this).

Upon reading many threads calling for buffs and debuffs, I've seen light in a number of both. I do not wish to demean your efforts to call for the raptor to be buffed, but I merely think people should start to think more along the lines of rarity, and that rarer weapons -should- be generally more effective. Otherwise, what's the point of rarity when that uncommon gets buffed to be comparable to an ultra-rare, or that promotional weapon (would should be even more effective than an ultra-rare)?

I believe players should begin comparing weapons to those deemed similar, like a Raptor to a Mattock, Incisor, or Phaeston. Other uncommon sniper/assault rifles, since it is indeed supposed to be a hybrid weapon of the two.

Again, my apologies if: this has been stated before, or it seems I'm trying to demean your (in my opinion) justified campaign to bring a weapon to noteworthy levels, or if (upon reading the last page) this post is completely out of place.

whats funny is that I completely dismissed the arc pistol before trying it last night and regret that it is a very good, versatile pistol.

I believe that instead of having UR's dominate over lower rarity weapons, they should be more niche orientated.

uncommons should be more broad and better at general use but less effective at niche rolls. UR's and rares should be much more effective at their specific task. e.x. the reegar and acolyte, both are good at stripping shields much better than any uncommon weapon; however, they are not as effective as other weapons at more general use.

Rokayt: Yeah, that seems like one of the things that shouldn't be shared. Along with exactly how long one spends on TVtropes. Unholy numbers.

Blind: It only just occured to me that both the raptor and the Incisor have Better AR counterparts. Raptor has the mattock, which has already been established as better, but the Incisor has the Vindicator, which has less damage, but is much more likely to hit every shot.

Before the buff, nobody would want a heavier, less effective Phalanx pistol. That took up Rare rolls from packs to add salt to the wound.

Well now on to the Raptor. It's uncommon, so it needs to be on par with Mattock. Any better and suddenly every class wields it like it's going out of style-till someone starts 'Hahaah Raptor is horrible' just to break the trend n have a few unsubstantiated claims backing it up.

We call this the Carnifex Effect.

1. I did calculate the value in weight that the ultra rare sticker seems to give in determineing weapon stats.
In turn, the Raptor being as far behind the Indra as it was was still totally unjustifiable. Even with a .85 gun weight on the Indra.

This is less voodo then you think it is. (Hint, An Ultra rare will be about as good as a uncommon that weighs .15 weight more then it. A weapon that is automatic will be as strong as a weapon .45 weight ligher then it.)

2. The eagle is decryed as one of the worst weapons in the game, hence the comparison.

3. An Uncommon is compared as well.

4. Rares and Uncommons are basically the same tier. You can unlock them in any order, as such.... The Arc Pistol comparison is still fair. The Arc pistol weight-power disparity shows exactly why the Raptor must be buffed.

arc pistol should be better at close range, yet slap a scope on it and it is a better sniper than the raptor. I do not care if it is rare a pistol should not be a better sniper than the sniper rifle.

It weighs thrice as much as the Phalanx.

That it was only just as good as a weapon that was a third of its weight was the issue.

There are two weapon families that keep a decent trade off between Common, Rare and Uncommon.
Avenger - Phaeston - Revenant is the right kind of progression. Uncommon is better than the Common. Rare is better than the uncommon, but harder to use.
Predator - Phalanx - Arc Pistol is the other family. Low damage, fast firing Predator, Medium speed firing, Decent damage from the Phalanx, Medium damage, fast firing Arc Pistol.

The Mattocks Reload canceled dps is 750.

The Indras DPS while it is firing is 750.

A scoped mattock is a better sniper then the Indra if you are skilled enough to use it.

Even after you put the AP Mod +EB on the Indra while you simply put an AP mod on the mattock.

The Scoped mattocks spread is the same as the Indras spread as well.

Ah. With twenty prior pages, I guess it's no surprise. I merely just do not post on the BSN, though I am an avid reader of threads pertinent to my multiplayer experience. This one caught my eye, given I have always been interested in the Raptor, being a lover of both snipers and assault rifles alike and it being quite a delightful balance between.
