How does the Viper stack up the to Raptor other than a .3 weight difference, 1/4 of the RoF and about 215 more DMG.

I see what you are saying, with the rares being available for purchase at the same time as uncommons. Though with rares being a minimum of 2.5x more expensive per unit to obtain, they are arguable harder to get, thus earning their rare status through having to put forth greater effort to own.

We cant have this hold too much weight, otherwise there would never be any reason to pick up the uncommons.

Especially since buying rares gives you a chance of unlocking ultra rares, the most expensive things in the game.

I know giving it too much basis would cause even more problems, just like comparing only by a weapon's damage. I would like to see the point given more consideration in general, though.

Uncommons should find use through their balance between the versatility of Commons and the specialization presented by Rares (Though UltraRares like to do stranger things than fit to this scale). This said, the Raptor should not be so easily out-classed and less versatile than other Uncommons like the Mattock.

As a whole, I heartedly agree and support your campaign to give the Raptor the claws to which its name deserves. What I'd like to see most would be greater hip-fire efficiency of the Raptor to better epitomize its hybrid status as an assault rifle/sniper cross, while still having the power to scope in and take a few heads off.

Well. Actually, one of the two buffs I recommended in tandem with the Damage buff was a buff to its hipfired accuracy.... To make its hipfire something that was actually practical.
