I couldn't stop reading and getting amused by what you wrote. I have a little story I want to share with you about the "king of snipers".
Today, I was bored... I had time to play mass effect 3 and I decided to play some silver in order to complete and help my friends complete their weekend operation (vigilance). I decided to create myself a level 1... Nemesis!
So I looked up pictures of them on google and decided to make my N7 Shadow look like one as much as possible. Funny thing... Nemesis are equiped with Raptors!!
As I was building her up in level, I decided to completely ignore Shadow strike, Slash and force myself never to use melee attacks, not even in desperate situation... Got to stick to character! When I maxed out all the damage bonuses I could get from short cloak with sniper damage and weapon damage, nothing could prepare me for the "surprise"!!
So I cloak/decloak to get the best damage possible and realize that, by the time I empty the approx. 12 bullet clip and reload (almost instantaneous), my cloak is ready for use!! Basically, I was firering the gun constantly with the full cloak damage bonus non-stop!! It felt like using "adrenaline rush" with the phaeston!! The damage I was dealing was descent enough to make me want to try the build I made for sh*t and giggles on gold!
I strapped on some level 2 equipment to give me a little edge (not much, but still...) and on both games I played, my little Nemesis equiped with the raptor (NEVER using melee, shadow strike and slash) scored over 100 000 points, finished 1st and 2nd on the scoreboard!!
I am with you 100% to say that the raptor is surpassed by most other similar weapons in the game, but I just had a blast with it and I am glad to have discovered a way to make it work with the tac cloak!
