Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Phalanx outperform the Raptor and hasn't it always outperformed the Raptor?

For uncommon weapon i say it does pretty well on gold, infact my human engineer's weapon of choice along with phalanx(when sniping is not an option with Run and gun tactics).
As for comparing pistols to sniper rifles... I've yet to understand Bioware's logic behind how a pistol is capable of outdamaging a sniper rifle such as raptor with lesser caliber of barrel, hell even Anti-materiel sniper rifles.

DPS wise, No.

However, It can deliver 1 shot headshots on gold with certain builds, something the Raptor is totally incapable of (And will still be incapable of post this buff.)

In fact, it might be technically possible to do 1 shot headshots on platinum with the Phalanx.....

Once again, something that would make the Raptor look silly.

So, Role wise. Totally. Absolutely. Yes.

This may have been answered already, but why do you pleople insist on comparing Common and Uncommon weapons to Ultra Rares and expect similar performance?

Because conversion rates to ultra rare weapons and uncommon weapons are left behind in the game.

Common analouges exist for the two to be compaired against each other on, thus, the two can be balanced with the weight of the ultra rare sticker taken fully into account.

Well, Once again. With one shot headshots, the only thing that mattters is how often you can fire them.

Any further DPS is superflous.

True enough when dealing with the rank and file, but not against bosses or half of the Reaper units.

You can carry the Phalanx with any other weapon in the game, and not really see a change in your cooldowns.

Do that with the Raptor now....

You will be saddened.

At best... Three bullets to kill... 4X the weight...

Aside from the Indra, the one thing that put the Raptr above the other weapons mentioned is the sniper rifle damage boost evolution for infiltrators.

Actually, with the sniper damage boost, it is still weaker then the Mattock and Arc Pistol.

It may be a multiplicative bonus, but it doesn't make up for something being 35% stronger.

I don't understand the calls to buff uncommon weapons. They shouldn't be near the performance level of an ultra rare.

Well it used to be viable.But nowadays, I'm just too lazy to do the taps and get very little payoff.
Raptor really needs a buff. The damage per click is poor. The weight is average. And it doesn't motivate me to pick it over other guns.

Its called game balance, and consistancy. (Hint.... The average strength bonus an ultra rare seems to get for being an ultra rare is far less then what .3 weight will get a gun.)

Your logic has a flaw in it the size of an elephant riding a tricyle wearing a novelty afro wig in so much as most Ultra Rares don't even have the performance of Ultra Rares.

Raptor should be made as light as the Disciple but its' other stats left alone. It'd make an awesome caster sniper then.

Krysae/Disciple/Falcon/Widow/Javelin/Mantis/Raptor/Vindicator/Incisor/Scimitar/Eviscerator/Geth Plasma SMG/Black Widow all need dmg bumps it's obvious the reason I say GPSMG is cause it's dmg per shot is 20 if they boost it to 30 it be fairly more usable

Krysae's dmg is stupid small for it's fire rate now raising dmg to around 700 would alleviate this issue and remained balance

Disciple dmg is small in comparable blasting and needs a buffeting up to around 500 tally pellet dmg when the Katana beats you .. you have issues and Katana is a viably okay gun but this just only makes it up with just a .40 weight difference

Falcon yeah needs dmg comparable to the acolyte it just does...

Any single shot sniper knows they are weaker now and need around a 300 dmg buff (cept Kishock which got a buff anyways to compete

Raptor is obviously now not comparable to the Mattock anymore as a scoped variant ..how stupid

Vindicator as a burst gun it still needs comparable dmg PER shot raise that sucker up to be a gun not a pea shooter

Incisor same issue as Vindicator burst gun with not enough kick in the shots to be a worth

Eviscerator ...yeah it's a shotgun but it's dmg dwindles a tad needs a tiny bump still useful though

Scimitar gosh this gun be more viable if um it did something worth noting of anything I mean the piranha is like it's hybred cousin using katanas weight it's pretty bad dmg of pelelt tally of 354 dmg beign the lowest shotty with 8 shots it's just needs a more boost than all the shotties

GPSMG it's dmg is really only 10 points behind any more practical use it's good at what it does but that 10 point more dmg threshold would make it compaire as a SMG

Black Widow ...the thigns out shined by the Saber atm it's not brainer choice to take a saber instead it's only benafical use is infiltrator sniper and the Valiant can out shine this sucker on a ifniltrator being a faster per shot than thsi gun this guns like the more useful grade of the mantis of dmg it ends at 643 dmg with 3 slowed shots while saber at X is 535 with 8 shots obviously the Saber out does it with spare ammo/shots in hold and such

all these guns listed are runnign behind the changes and need to be ultimately fixed up to compete and the Phalanx out shines the Mattock too.... Phalanx is one of the most ultimate guns ever... in the precision factor and dmg factor among the pistols in cases but again it has a 90 capacity not a 150 like a mattock so they are comparable guns

I would love to get my hands on a Nemesis's Raptor.

Raptor needs to have the feeling of a DMR/EBR. Using it on boss units can be tiring as it is now.
