Back when the Mattock was as weak as it, it was the highest DPS weapon in the game...

Without a single nerf, it is now one of the weakest weapons out there.

Your argument would be a lot more valid if you weren't comparing the Raptor mostly to Rare and Ultra Rare weapons. Of course the Indra is going to be better than the Raptor. You may as well be trying to compare the Vindicator/Phaeston to the Harrier. They aren't meant to be equal.

The only things that can really be properly compared are the Raptor and Mattock, both very similar guns in all honesty (unless you put on in the hands of a nemesis). The fact that the Raptor has better accuracy and a scope pull it ahead of the Mattock though, allowing for easier headshots, which deal 2.5x more damage than a body shot. So it is understandable for the Raptor to have at least a little less damage. Of course that's all moot against bosses but if you're packing a Raptor/Mattock, I am fairly sure you'd be aiming at the mooks, not the bosses.

Could the Raptor use a buff? Eh...maybe. I can't say for certain since I don't like sniper rifles in general in this game since they tend to be a pain in the ass on certain maps. At the very least, they should remove the damage penalty for firing outside of scope. That alone would make every single sniper rifle so much better.

You see, you just need to compare the Harrier to the Mattock.

How much magic did the Harrier get from being an ultra rare, how much magic did it get from being terribly instable. or being bad in cover, and how much magic did it get due to being heavy?

Hint: It got very little magic for being ultra rare.

Its actually kinda funny:


Equip a GE with the Eagle, and the Raptor with a stabilizer module and barrage gear. (Thus, Removing all reason to complain about either.)

The Eagle one will get the Hunter mode ROF bonus, and get a massive DPS boost.

The Raptor will resist the DPS boost, and bug out and skip shots.

Tell me which one you like more after that.

Btw, I agree with the Raptor (and Incisor) needing a buff.

The Wraiths sustained DPS takes a pretty big hit from the shortened magazines.

It also has a sighting accuracy penalty that makes it annyoing to use in cover.

However: The Wraiths performance improvement is almost totally perportional to the increase in weight.

It technically behaves like a Eviscerator that weighs as much as a Raptor would likely behave currently. (Putting the bonus power of being an ultra rare at a value of.... .1 weight. Exactly what I came to with the Harrier as well.)

I compared it to the Eviscerator.... Tested it an all....

Its everything it should be to be a heavier, but slightly better Eviscerator clone.

If we really wanted a better two shot shotgun, we should be looking to add another Claymore variant, IMO. (Halberd anyone?)

It'll have to wait. We got a new shotgun from the two last mp dlc's each; it's time they gave us something else.

SMG's haven't seen something new since resurgence, so they definitely get the first pick (quarian SMG do it bioware!)
I'd like to see a new sniper aswell, preferrably asari or salarian themed.

Whats not to like, its accurate, allows maximum control of damage output, does not overkill something and its ttk's for mooks and midsize enemys has been great, all if one knows how to aim and has a good triggerfinger (also it was my signature weapon, my first rare, and it allowed me to enter gold and contribute)

But with all the buffs to enemys and other guns within its range (mattock) it became just a novelty item, one id love to have back to be usefull, i miss bringing julia and rosy in a game together and wreak havoc (raptor/revenant, missing that)

Basically the same gun but with the ability to charge it up, the players variant of a nemesis' raptor

It was the highest DPS non Hurricane weapon...

You could headshot every bullet.....

On primes!

We were the Apex snipers.... Wee will take these lesser rifles.... AND MAKE THEM OUR SLAVE.
