Is there a "damage registering" difference if you play a bit laggy game?

I sensed if i play on one of my friends room = host (bit laggy) i can take down enemies specialy Phantoms with ease, however here comes the catch...

If i host there is 100% more effort involved into taking Phantoms down my first thought was "odd i use the exact same gear"

I have to say with the host the enemies dont instant die there is a slight delay as apposed when i'm host then the enemy dies instant in case of a clean headshot. most of the time...

I use the exact same tactic but i notice a big difference.

I use the Javelin V, extended sniper barrel V, armor piercing mod V, sniper rail amp III, armor piercing ammo IV.

Why the difference in taking down enemies more specifc Phantoms?

Maybe the bubble kicks in slightly to late when there is lag...

Any pointer/ help is appreciated.
