I'd say unlikely, considering most people in thedas would be out to kill you. Also only desire and pride demons have shown enough self possession to form their own character. (sloth demons might also have enough self possession, but seeing how they are sloth demons that would make for a rather lame story where half the game is deciding which pillow is comfier to sit down and sleep on)

However with the promise to make specializations more key to the story I could see a spirit healer having a psuedo companion relationship with their spirit, as a spirit warrior I'd say how you and your demon or fade spirit get along would be key to its story elements, and a blood mage could probably have a pet relationship with a lesser demon like a rage or hunger demon that you've bound to your will.  Also depending on how they take learning blood magic a blood mage could have some form of relationship with the demon that helped you learn blood magic.

Yeah we could be a blind elven demon hunter and take a demon into our soul for power...and we can be called Illidan. lol.

Though it would be nice if our character changed into a completely new form, not the standard demon form or abomination form. If we were possessed and we were transforming it would be nice to have a completely original new form, that would incorporate part demon and part human/whatever.
