 but I just realized how sexy the default male hawke is. 
I now have renewed interest in this game.

To each their own, I personal always found default male Hawke weird looking. He seemed to have a cube shaped head.
Also, what was with the blood smear on his face?

He looks too old, imo, especially in the beginning of the game. I'd love to see how he looks without the exaggerated face texture.

And the blood smear. I just can't get down with a big ol' blood smear that is inexplicably present for over seven years with no explanation. Not one person offered poor Hawke a napkin.

I think you can use a default Hawke in the character creator without having a blood stain. At least in my game that's the case.

I used the default Hawke with blood smear. I look at other Hawkes sans blood smear now and think "Part of your face is missing."

I agree because I have seen some gorgeous Hawkes.

I don't hate the default but defending on the lighting, he looks old enough to be Bethany and Hawke's father.

How old was Leandra when she ran away with Malcolm? 14?

Probably fairly young, given how quickly young nobles end up married off in medieval times, especially girls, and She was supposedly engaged to that noble with the Orlesian name I can't recall.  I doubt she was older than twenty.

OMG, Melca, I've never seen those before. Indeed, he did need the beard. The porn 'stache is HILARIOUS. Oh dear.

Yeah, I'll always be disappointed in default m!Hawke, because he was so smokin' hot in the trailer that he just can't live up. Default f!Hawke, on the other hand, I think is rather stunning and I'm using her for the first time on my latest playthrough ... minus blood smear since, you know, Gamlen must have a wash basin somewhere, for Andraste's sake!

I reasoned that it was a habit Hawke picked up off of the Chasind and he applied the paint on a daily basis.

Default Male Hawke is a bit weird.

Default Lady Hawke is good, aside from glowing eyes. And really great as a preset to tweak off - though that kind of highlights how poor most of the female presets were.

Default Hawke was absolutely stunning in the live-action trailer. In-game was a touch of a let-down from there. :-(
