BW didn't say we couldn't use Gear Bonus, since that's NOT a consumable. So if you have at a level IV or V gear bonus, you won't be at a total disadvantage. I've solo'd silver successfully (like many others have, for sure) so I'll do that and make sure I get my comm pack at least.

Played without medis and ops packs before (not enough credits or Microsoft points at times), so that's not new to me. The trick is gonna be for the D-pad-happy players who will instinctively hit the pad buttons to load an ammo/ops pack or medi. Any player who does this in-game will ruin it for the entire fire team.

Hopefully BW will turn off the ability to use the consumables during this Operation. Forcing the handicap will ensure no mistakes are made with the medi's, ops/ammo packs.

As long as we can use our Gear Bonus options, that's totally kewl with me.

The squad (whether 1, 2, 3 or 4 person squads) cannot use consumables.

Really? Really? You guys realize that almost no one on PS3 has a mic, right? And that there's still no in-game notification on PS3 that these events are happening at all, right?

I can solo Bronze in my sleep, but I pity the noobs trying for this one in PUGs.

If I use my medigel hotkey for reload-canceling will that count against the objective, even though it doesn't actually consume a medigel?

Solo Bronze with a Kroguard wielding a reegar, cyclonic modulator, strenght enhancer and maybe an ammo power.
No points in carnage.

Take the area charge evolution, health and shields + damage reduction evolutions.

Anyone can do it.

So...if one person in our squad uses a consumable we don't get an individual victory?

Guess PUGS are out...

Um, no. I mean, I get where you're coming from, and this would certainly help everyone achieve the squad goal. But that handicap would completely torpedo the allied goal. Mission failure rate would go up exponentially with no ability to use consumables. Not that I really care about scoring what amounts to a JEP - but I think a lot of other people do.

It's a pipe dream, but a consumables "on/off" toggle would be ideal.

Not the point it's a co-op gane....why the f*** should I have to play a co-op game solo

You don't HAVE to.

You can always cooperate with people and play the co-op game in a coordinated group... OR you can solo. You're given options, not forced either way.

Bronze, krogan vanguard here I come!  It's the only way to be sure.  I don't need ****s using a missile or Ops pack when we've pretty much done everything already.

Any vorchas can do it as well, and krogan sentinels can rock as well.  Human vanguards will be effective as well.

Wow, operation "This Is No Longer A Team Game" is in effect.
This might have been alright when the game was more populous, and it wasn't a challenge just to get a full lobby of friends, but now it's basically going to force a ton of players to just solo Bronze.

I'll probably use N7 Shadow on glacier/bronze/cerberus personally. (Not sure if it's faster than kroguard since I've never really played it, but meh. Soloing bronze is boring enough to just want to get it over with.)

And here I am, having promoted both lolguard and infiltrator class last op as my least played...

Hmm... Paladin/Batsent, here I come! Or might go health-buffed Fury and just blow the map up. Either way... it might even be fun!

So, the squad goal can be done in bronze solo, right?

EDIT - Nevermind.

Chris, there are a lot of concerns about the squad goal. If you play with others, there is no way of determing whether you succeeded. In addition, it will now be easy to grief by simply using consumables when players are attempting the goal.

Essentially, this goal discourages cooperative play in a cooperative game.

No it Does encourage cooperative play. GENUINE cooperative play.  People's own lack of trust and the nature of a lot of gamers will make this difficult. The objective is easy, we're just going to make it hard on ourselves.

Look at how many are already throwing up a white flag and hollering "SOLO!" <_<

I have to disagree..you can use mics and if you can't do that, send an email to the people you are playing with if they are randoms and check to see if they know about the squad goal to see if they have done it or not.

Once you have completed the squad goal, the community challenge is an objective goal and that requires cooperation from even random players.

After a bit of a self imposed exile to Pandora (been playing Borderlands 1) after spending 6 hours playing through the Leviathan DLC and some single-player missions on Leviathans relase date, I was looking forward to this weekends Operation as a chance to get back into Mass Effect 3 / Multiplayer and level up, most of my classes.

However, I will take on the Allied goal as mostly play random bronze game, and as its been stated these no way of knowning if the other playes have used a consumable items.

If I then get a commendation pack on Wednesday, well that will be a nice extra.

May try for a solo, but will mainly stick with the Allied Goal, and hope the Drone dosn't take my straight through the enemy army as I may have to medi-gel / cobra to complete the Allied Goal.

Good-luck to us all and hold the line.

Squad Goal: Complete up to and including wave 10 on any difficulty without using a consumable (medi-gel, ammo, Ops pack or Cobra missile launcher)

I realize only the in-game consumables are referenced as examples in OP, but I am assuming we are also not allowed to ready up with or use "upgraded" ammo, Armor, or weapons, since they too are consumables.
I know Gear is ok.

Sound correct?

NO.

We are not allowed to use the items Chris listed.  The consumables
that are used on the moment buy a button push. Just the 4 listed. ...
and as asked on nearly every 16 pages thus far.

LOL Every weekend op, the same thing happens...

"Consult the book of armaments!

Thou shall count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be  the number thou shall count, and the number of the counting shall be: three. Four, shall thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five...is right out..."

The instructions for the weekend ops should follow the above pattern...Image IPB
