The individual goals are of 2 types:

1) promote
2) bronze solo.

I actually think it is kinda funny that they just gave us more medigel to carry into battle after the last challenge and now they are saying we can't use it anyway.

so wait just for clarification... The personal goal just means I myself don't have to use items right. My allies still can?

And I only have to make it through one game before going back to normal?

Woooow, definitely gonna have to do a private party Bronze with friends to complete the individual/squad goal, especially with no splash screen for PS3.

Hopefully, Escort will keep popping up with the extreme frequency I've experienced lately...

I'm sure most of our PS3 friends will carry on, completely oblivious to the fact that they shouldn't be using their consumables.

Curse you, supposed next patch! HURRY UP SO WE CAN GET THIS SCREEN ALREADY!

Should the "Individual Goal" be renamed a "Squad Goal" then, if it requires the entire squad to not use consumables?

How is it that there is so often confusion about what is required with these?

Also, good lord, how many matches are people just not going to use consumables at all this weekend? Or how many times are people going to get screamed at for missiling something on Gold/Plat.

Anybody attempting the "individual goal" (and yes, it should have named "squad goal" in this case) with randoms on even Silver gets what they deserve.  After all, there aren't going to be extra messages during or after the match to tell you when someone has or hasn't used a consumable and unless you're observing other players very closely you'll never know if they've used an ammo or ops pack.

WOW!!!! Some of you people are either dumber then a box of rocks or just over analyze things way too much.

Individual goal means you (The INDIVIDUAL) cannot use any consumables. if your team mates do and you don't you will get the Comm pack and not the one(s) who use the consumables. WTF is so hard to understand about the word individual? The Victory packs are nothing for them a JEp anyway so I couldn't care less about the community goal. I just want my Hurricane VI although I never really play the game anymore anyway.

EDIT: I just saw that they edited the name to squad goal, You can move on now nothing to see here.

Clarification has already been provided.

"Clarification requested: Entire squad can't use consumables or individual cannot use consumables?"
Answer from Chris: "Entire squad. It's a "challenge" weekend ;)"

Time to solo.

twitter.com/BioEvilChris/status/243383492715618304 - "Standard Victory packs this week.". More lv IV Cryo ammo for everyone.

It would be nice if you were right, but as noted above (and I'll keep linking to it as long as I'm in this thread since even I missed it earlier), this has been clarified.

The individual goal is a VERY bad idea. Very easy to grief this one and worse yet the person has a very good chance of not knowing they have been griefed. Also soloing is not super easy for a lot of lower end players even on bronze, though they can probably do it they would have to use at least a consumable to pull it off.

I really hope they rethink this, this is a recipe for disaster.

The wording is irrelevant. Even one person refusing to use equipment burdens the entire squad.

Gonna be an interesting weekend. Well, I always play bronze and most of the time don't need to use consumables, play enough matches and I'll get through one where nobody else needs to either. No use stressing about people using them, I'm just going to enjoy myself and get some of my characters leveled again after promoting last event.

I am sure my friends and I could easily do the squad goal on gold, but it is going to be hard fighting the instinct to use a medigel when I see an assault trooper walking up to my corpse. Perhaps I will do a quick bronze solo before going for it...

No. Chris clarified this point in the announcements thread. Nobody on the team can use consumables. The challenge states no ammo, gel, ops pack or missiles. Still waiting for clarification on armour and weapon mods. I have assumed gear is OK since it is resusable and not consumed.

*I want to alter my previous post.

This will be the first Operation where you will never really know (unless you solo) if you succeeded or not. How are you supposed to know that someone didn't use a Thermal Clip Pack just to mess with you?

Your post is unintentionally, side-splittingly hilarious since Priestly had already confirmed that this was, in fact, not an Individual Goal.  Those of us discussing it were already aware of this fact, and commenting on how confusing it is.

Squad Goal: Complete up to and including wave 10 on any difficulty without using a consumable (medi-gel, ammo, Ops pack or Cobra missile launcher)

Well i'm out of medi-gel personally so... :bandit: Remind me not to play demolisher.

So... you give horribly selfish or just flat out horrible players another excuse to hoard consumables, continue to suck at the game and be carried?

...

Stupid event sounds monumentally stupid. Bronze Solo it is... or I could continue to play something else.  Either way I almost feel sorry for anyone pugging Gold and Plat this week.

So, another "solo bronze" operation, in other words. Shall I go with the kroguard or batarian soldier this time?

Hell yes it will! LOL

Looks like I'm on the Kroguard solo train too. What map though? I've had good luck soloing Giant, but that may not be ideal for a Kroguard.
