I see much griefing in the future.
Hooray for people spamming everything right before wave 10 end.
Seems like bronze solo it is then.

I like this Operation. It really forces people to revive fallen teammates and might cause people to stick close together on higher difficulties.

I wondered that too, I love my stronghold package.

To be fair when they asked us what we loved about the game a lot of people said teamwork.
Gunna need that teamwork now. XD
On PC where no one has/uses the mic, we have no way to communicate if we've completed the goal already. So there's going to be tons of matches where the match fails because 4 people that all already had their goal done held back on consumables. And people that haven't gotten it done yet are going to keep getting it ruined by people that just assume everyone already did it solo. And of course, all 3 systems will have rampant griefing with using consumables for no good reason.

Correct. The squad (whether 1, 2, 3 or 4 person squads) cannot use consumables.
I'm still confused about the 'cannot'. Does this mean players "can't" use consumables(consumables are deactivated this weekend), or does this mean they "should" not use consumables(to not to fail the squad goal)?
It's not that easy to understand if english isn't your native language.

This is simply proof of the obvious.

BioWare hears us but rarely ever actually listens to what we're trying to tell them.

The only consumables affecting the operation are gels, missiles, ops packs, and ammo packs.100RenegadePoints wrote...

In other words, the four items you "consume" on demand while the match is actually in progress.

Thank you for the link.
Why do we have two separate discussion threads, though?
The one we are in right now and the one you linked to above?
Both started by Chris Priestly himself with an official Bioware logo?
Hmmm. Maybe it's the old "why do things the easy way if you can make it complicated?"
Anyhow, after reading through 6 pages in this forum the following has been officially confirmed:
1. ALL FOUR players are not allowed to use a consumable. So if anyone in the squad accidentally hits the
Ops Pack key, the complete squad is screwed and has to try again in the next round.
2. Despite the ambigous wording used in the Manifest, consumables are limited to what Chris Priestly listed in the Operation Vigilance announcement: "medi-gel, ammo, Ops pack or Cobra missile launcher".
So you can use Warp Ammo IV with the Assault Rifle III mod and a Shield Booster V and still accomplish the (formerly called individual) squad goal.
At least my questions after reading the announcement are now answered...
If you want to play it save, play with a group of friends or do it with a group of randoms on Bronze confirming afterwards that nobody used any of the buttons of the +-pad and hope that you didn't get griefed by some "funny" comedian in your squad.

Let's do this
If I understand correctly we just need a team to work together and have only one person on each match not usa a consumable. Four matches and on each match someone else not use consumable at all.
Chris some clarification would be great...
pretty clear to me - no consumables is a SQUAD goal on a single match...not individual, nor spread across multiple missions with the same group...the former would be a nearly pointless restriction, and the latter nearly impossible for PUGs

It means they can, but they shouldn´t if they want to achieve squad goal.
This sounded like quite funny operation until I read that no one in squad can use consumables. How the heck can I know what my team mates are using or not using?!
I guess I will just solo the bronze. My condolences to all players who can´t.

No. It has apparently been renamed to "squad goal" and the need for the whole team to participate has already been confirmed.Lime The Dragon wrote...
Alright, so.. once again, we must get clarification.
The individual goal, since it's titled individual goal and not squad goal, can we assume that ONLY YOU need to not use any consumables? Or does anybody on the squad using a consumable ruin this goal for the current game/match.
Correct. The squad (whether 1, 2, 3 or 4 person squads) cannot use consumables.
Guess that means I'm soloing bronze/silver cause I can't guarantee otherwise if my squad mates used on ops pack etc.

So much THIS.
If you can't solo bronze or if you don't have a team of buddys, you don't got a guarantee to achieve the squad goal. Pretty much gambling if you have PUGs only.

By all means, lets make a goal to specifically cater to griefers and dickholes. Surely nothing can go wrong with that idea.
Making this an individual goal: Neat concept, could be fun to do. Making this a squad goal: Hahahahahhahahhahahhahahahahhaa are you ****ing kidding me?
