Because I KNOW I'm not hearing any rumblings of DA3 having multiplayer. Nope. Its definitely not true. I mean it can't be true...

Right BioWare???

Like seriously, if this is true I've lost all hope.

I'd suggest not panicking until the game is at least announced. Until that happens, I'm afraid we're not going to elaborate on or clarify anything.

Unless you'd prefer to assume the worst, and assume the lack of information to the contrary means the worst must be true-- in which case, by all means panic. ;)

There video somewhere where someone asked about multiplayer. Dev said something like "If we are going to do multiplayer, ever. We'd take a good, long look at how Baldur's Gate did it, and go from there." I'll see if I can find the vid.

Please be true. If Bioware does MP do Baldur's Gate MP...please! That would be the ultimate co-op experience.

I'm discombobulated. What does DA3 having multiplayer have to do with anything? I don't think there ISN'T going to be a DA3 because that would be some cruel leading on being done right thar. So we assume that DA3 is going to have muliplayer. And? I really don't understand why that word sends people shrieking like someone stole their favorite cat food. I mean really. If you don't like it, don't play it. And before someone throws the "Mass Effect 3 debacle" in my face, that's BS. You never had to touch multiplayer to get the best endings, I didn't.

I don't mind multiplayer content.

What I do mind is shortchanging SP story and development to make it. If you make DA3 as good as the first 2 you will have a happy gamer here, multiplayer or not

www.bioware.com/careers/edmonton

Bioware careers changed from last I saw. They're still looking for an online programmer though.

Looks like a few job listings were added and some taken down. Could be the ME team hiring...or Dragon Age. My bet is on the Dragon Age team. :bandit:

It's buried in here somewhere. Take note that Mike said it's the first thing they'd do. It wouldn't just be a Baldur's Gate clone.

All of this sudden debate about multiplayer in Dragon Age 3 is really confusing me. I swear I read multiple times a few months ago that Dragon Age 3 would have multiplayer... although I suppose that they may have simply been speculation/ false claims.

BioWare died for me as a company when they included multiplayer in Baldur's Gate. Both of them.

That's awesome. I've long been ranting if DA3 does MP, it should do something similar to BG. Not enough RPGs allow us to quest with buddies online. RPGs are so anti-social unless you're playing MMOs. That or RPGs built specifically for online like Diablo 3.

If they did content updates like the ME3 team does with their MP, it would be even more awesome.

BG is a shining example Bioware can make a great SP AND MP game.

I'd suggest that anything reported about a game before said game is even announced should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

It still doesn't matter...so yeah, not sure why there is panic anyway.

First off, that's BS. Even if you play that ipad game it's not possible to get high enough readiness to get the 'Shepard lives' ending. Second, the "if you don't like it then don't play it" argument is dumb. We want the game to be good. Just saying "don't play it" doesn't take away disappointment over failed promise.

 Found it
It's a long video, but the question comes up early.

I think people are worried they'll have a shallow MP mode slapped on that will be tied to SP in an annoying way a la ME3. Bioware is not the same company they were back then.

I can understand this concern but I doubt that BioWare will learn nothing from the ME3 backlash.

The Extended Cut and constant MP nerfs say otherwise.

Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast upon the goo inside?

You mean the really popular and well-received multiplayer mode that caused minor annoyances when people couldn't unlock one Easter egg until the free single player DLC corrected that issue?

Also, you're right.  BioWare is a much bigger company with a lot more resources than they used to have.  They should be fine adding multiplayer now, seeing as they had a whole other studio branch do it for Mass Effect 3.

That really put my mind at ease, thanks for reminding me of those facts.

Exactly. And then they died for me again in Neverwinter Knights.

Actually, if you download the EC you don't need MP at all. It's super easy to get the Shepard lives ending without it now.

I think the ME3 MP is shallow. It's a single mode and they're constantly nerfing all of the things. And the lottery system used for the shop is ridiculous.
And considering how poorly recieved DA2 and ME3 have been, the extra resources don't count for much. I know you're not a 'bio-drone'(I hate that term) but you're trying way too hard to defend them.

You mean the DLC that came out after most people had already finished the game? Sure, they fixed it. But they didn't fix an error, they fixed their stupid design choice. They had to be told that forcing people to play MP to get a complete SP experience was a bad idea, even though they lied about it before the game launched.
