 I start up Dragonage and then i click "configuration" down to "repair" and click create desktop shortcut, but it says "You do not seem to have proper rights, try logging in as an Admin or Run as Administrator option."

But i don't know how to run as administrator since i can only open the game from the CD in My Computer. Help please!

Also, The first time i played i entered my redeem code or whatever and when i saved my game and exited out for bed, the next day it was downloading the prison thing again, and i can't click load games, and i know i saved it because i looked in the dragon age folder and it said it was saved.

Help me! Thanks.

I have a similar problem. No shortcuts were installed when the game was installed. Mass Effect had the same problem. I am on a Vista Ultimate 32-bit system, and the sole user and Admin of this machine. I tried to use the "repair" function, but it had no effect.

Now, I know how to manually create a shortcut, but I shouldn't have to. Every other game I have, both "Vista compatible" and Vista-native all manage to do it..... Why not these titles?

You can also click and drag the icon from the game explorer to wherever you want to create a shortcut. Doesn't solve the issue, but its a quick work around.

So it *is* a known issue? Is there any more (preferably official) information about this as to why such a basic flaw exists?

I'm encountering the same issue on Windows 7 64 bit, brand new machine with only one user account. Has anyone come up with a solution?

sorry to necro, but I figure I'm still having this issue and this is the only post I found on the issue. I made a shortcut to my ROM drive but was kinda hoping someone might of made a break through on a fix.

@TheKhmerChild

Go to 'My Computer'
Right-Click DAO
Select 'Explore'
Right-Click 'auto-run'
Select 'Run as administrator'

Should be able to set up Start Menu and Desktop shortcuts now! Worked for me!

Hope this helps!
