I disagree as making the warden the focus of all dragon age games would force each plot to revolve around the darkspawn. Going with non-warden characters allowing more freedom in story telling.

Precisely Bioware's point, I believe.

Personally, I'm expecting DA4 to revolve around a Qunari invasion.

And BioWare has said that the Grey Wardens and the Darkspawn were the pillars of the Dragon Age franchise, you can check it out yourself from Pax 2011, answer to a twitter question I wrote actually, and I don't see the issue with the games focusing mainly on one ''theme'' so to speak. Sure, there can be Qunari invasions, Mage/Templar wars and Dragon problems, just like there was a civil war in Ferelden, they can be tied to the plot of other games along with Darkspawn related problems.

By the time we get to DA7, we'll probably have to go back in time to ensure Andraste gets/save Andraste from being burned at the stake. It'll be all non-linear time portals, Ultima II style.

More likely it will involve alternate dimensions. Or a merger of three dimensions that results in a giant retcon.

As long as BioWare is going to leave her out of future games as playable or viewable character, no. Because I made a story after Witch Hunt for my canon warden in my head. So it's finished and I hope when she is going to be mentionend in future titles, it's only through codex entries or npc's talking about her actions.

They can implement Hawke because I don't care about him anyway. So there's nothing to destroy.

Pretty much this. Hawke's fate was already in Bioware's hands at the start of DA2.

That may be fine for you, but my Warden can't stand by and watch Thedas tear itself apart when we have an insane architect out there trying to "synthesis" everyone with the Dark Spawn.  I will not let him pull a "Shepard" on Thedas and I will refuse to choose the green dragon!

Though I greatly enjoyed my Warden, I don't miss him as much as I miss the Dragon Age setting in general. It's been almost a year since any new DA content has been released, and with the cancellation of the DA2 expansion back in the spring, there's isn't likely to be any new content any time soon. Which is too bad, because I can't wait for my next chance to dive into the setting.

I enjoyed the DA:O story and felt it concluded sensibly with Witch Hunt. I've no real desire to return to that character, he had his time and it was a well told story.

How can you use the word "concluded" and "Witch Hunt" in the same sentence?  After playing the hour dlc that gave me less than five minutes of dialogue with Morrigan, I was left  with more questions than when I started the dlc. What was she talking about in regards to "change" coming?  What change?  The mage/templar conflict isn't change, it's conflict; hence why we call it the "conflict" instead of the Mage/Templar change.

The child has a destiny (for those that chose to allow your warden to live and continue on with their adventures) that will have a big impact on Thedas?  Or, "Here I left you a package that is important."  What's in the package?

I stabbed her once just because the option was there and I wanted to see what it would look like.  She falls backward into the mirror out of my reach for me to finish her off, so there's no question that Morrigan lives on.  What on earth is she doing, if not raising a child, with the Empress in Orlais?

I want this story to play out.  And I want to be an interactive part in that story again.  I'm too damn important to be playing titlly-winks with the other Grey Wardens of Aramanthine.

Yeah I miss my Warden too, mainly because currently I don't know where she is lol. She's supposed to be with Alistair doing Wardeny things, so I'm kinda concerned that she's been killed now that she's disappeared lol. However, I wouldn't want to play as her again. I'm hoping i'll become as attached to the new protagonist in DA3 as I did with my Warden.

This is pretty much how I feel.

Because of the ending of Witch Hunt and the final line in DA2 I'm not satisfied with how my Warden's story ended. I want to know what happened to her I don't care if it's a codex or even if the whole thing is retconned (I'm sure I'm in the minority here), but I want to know, damnit.

I did enjoy Hawke though. Unfortunately, she is also "Gone, just like the Warden." So I'm not satisfied on that front either.

Grr.

It could be the conflict that leads to change.

Also, it all depends on what choice you made during Witch Hunt. Some people decided to go through the Eluvian. I've seen posts here on the BSN from male Wardens who romanced Morrigan who are happy to think that the two of them went off into the mirror to raise their child, considering their Warden's story settled at that.

For my part, I let Morrigan walk away. Part of my curiosity is to know what gift she left me.

I don't miss my Warden right now. But every few months I start to miss him, the companions & the story etc etc. So I then do another playthrough.

As someone who did that I just want to say my Warden's story is far from settled. Obviously Morrigan(& perhaps the godchild) has a part to play in whatever happens in the future games. My Warden chose to be a part of it when he went through the mirror. If change is coming then he wants to help Morrigan & influence the change for the greater good.

Maybe DA4 in the next generation of consoles will be about the Warden and the OGB. They'll be no importing over from the old systems, so everyone should be able to customize their Warden to the new Unreal4 engine.

I would actually love that. They will have to canonize something if they want to continue the series so why not that stuff. It is the most interesting to me.

But considering BW seem to keep doing the opposite of what I would like, I wont hold my breath :P

I don't miss playing my warden but I do worry over a few things, such as her leaving a legacy and how well things will turn out with LI.In short I just want her to live and die with Honor and no regrets.

No. I don't miss my warden. I frequently create new contents for him with toolset and other 3D application. He lives and well with Morrigan, traveling together through time and dimension. And continue to do so as long as I live. After all he is my greatest character creation.

I really don't miss my warden, because I've actually played through a couple more times on DAO. It's still loaded on my machine. I have done a few more playthroughs since DA2 came out to get different imports to alter my DA2 game quests/encounters, and further if DA3 has an import feature like 2 did.

I can say I was glad to have darkspawn enter a 'background' element rather than a forefront of the story, since I was done to death with the taint, the blight and all that comes with it after doing DAO and Awakenings multiple times. Just as I hope DA3, while not completely dropping all its elements, will put them as a backdrop to a wider reaching story so I can get a bigger window into Thedas.

What's to miss? The Warden only exists in my head. And if I wanted to "see" him again, I could just replay DA:O.

I have several savegames of her and despite certain other heroes of Bioware-Games she is still alive and happily married, and if I want to I load the last save game and watch her marrying Alistair again, for fun. No, I do not miss her, as I never lost her in the first place!

Do I miss the Warden Commander? Not really, hardly actually, the Warden Commander him/herself had all the personality of a doorknob. The empty blank stares just couldn't really communicate any sense of expression from the Warden and each scene had to be completely carried by everyone else in the game (and of course your imagination).

However! I do miss almost everyone else from DA:O Loghain, Alistair and Morrigan especially so, those were great characters that had a lot of weight to them and were very compelling. The thing is to me, DA:O had a very satisfying conclusion and I was completely fine with Bioware wanting to explore different elements of the world they created (besides if anything had even less personality than the WC, it was the Archdemon). Now the direction they actually chose to go with in DA2 could be seen as hit or miss, but I personally don't have a problem with the intention they had with the new story direction (the execution however left some things to be desired.)

I guess what I'm trying to say is more so than missing the WC I miss the tone they established in DA:O, where each race/faction/major character had a very distinct sense of purpose and place in the overall narrative.
