As for my warden, I'm the only one who know his character and physical appearance. There is no way for BioWare to re-create his character and turn him into a NPC. He's a blank slate character and he would never fit into BioWare's cinematic character.  Any BioWare's warden who claim himself or herself as the Hero of Ferelden will be deemed as imposter and I will not recognize hin/her as my warden. So no. I have no worry about my warden.

I would like to address two concernes that you mentioned why you would be against the return of your warden. 1) Bioware "re-create"ing your character and 2) turning him into an NPC.

1) Recreating your character:  I myself or, from what I have read so far, anyone else who would like to see the return of their warden to the world of Thedas,  have never suggested or expected Bioware to recustomize our character.  We created that character in Origins and along the way customized their looks, equipped their outfits and weapons, leveled up in specific skills and gave that warden his or her's personality.  The first three examples were importable to the succeeding games and dlc.  No problem there.  The last example in regards to personality resides with the individual owner of that warden.  As long as the warden remains silent and doesn't have cinematic actions or emotions along the line of a fixed protagonist like Hawke, then this shouldn't be a problem either.

2) Turning your Warden into an NPC:  Maker forbid.  Turning your Warden into an NPC totally goes against the whole idea of having a "playable" Warden returning.  Again, that would ruin all the above about customizing, outfitting, leveling and controlling their personality.  Wanting the return of the Warden is in no way with any expectations that your character would be reduce to an NPC.  The return of the Warden is in regards to the expectations of "playing" that  character once more and continuing on experiencing the world of Thedas and shaping that world in the same continuity that you left it last.

In no way would anyone accept this:

The problem is that Bioware has a new face rig so if we import our wardens the faces will be different we could end up looking like Zevran or fat alistair.

That doesn't even count the elf redisign, so whoever imports an elf warden will have an unreconisable character.

Considering how DAII's graphics and art design are a major criticism; they should go back to the original engine that allows for importation.  Because, importing is Bioware's signature game feature that made them so popular.

If they still feel that they must stay with the DA2 direction, allowing you to customize your Warden once again and equipping their new outfits and skills is always an option.
