I have a problem with screenshots being just black. This applies to all types (user and automatic screenshots). There doesn't seem to be a pattern to which ones are black and which are not.

I'm running Windows 7 x64, 2x Nvidia 9800gtx+, drivers 195.62.

I'm having the same problem on Windows 7 X64, Nvidia GTX280m SLI.

Although I have been having this problem with other games, for Dragon Age it only started happening after I installed Awakening and the 1.03 patch.

I've got the same issue. have had it since before 1.03. Win 7 x64, nVidia 9600GT x2.

Okay, please forgive me for asking the bleeding obvious, but have you installed the latest driver for your card? This might not fix anything, since it seems to be yet another bug associated with the 1.03 patch and since almost all of you are using Nvidia's 9000-class cards, but it couldn't hurt.

Yes. In fact that was one of the first things I checked. Card driver is up to date.

Additional info which will hopefully help narrow down the issue - still hoping someone from Bioware is reading - Print Screen works on the menu screens. I can take a screenshot of the main menu for example, but once I load a game I get the black screenshots.

Automatic screen.dds files associated with saves are also intermittently black. This started with one of the patches and currently happens with 1.02a. It is not related to video card drivers.

Also intermittent black auto screenshot files with 1.03, for saves as well as achievment shots.

Same here. Persisted through all version of game (unpatched, 1.02, 1.03), graphic drivers and DX are up to date. I'm using GTS 250 512 MB. Anyways, on brothers computer which is slightly worse than mine the screenshots are being showed properly.

To all of you, are your screenshots black in-game only, or do they also appear black in their folder in "My documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\..." ? Does it concern also the previews of the saves ?

The screenshots are black in the folder as well. On my older Vista machine, the screenshots all show correctly and range from 150-250 kb in size. On WIN 7, the screen shots are all black and range from 30- 35kb in size. Any ideas why the game would do this?

No, I'm sorry Saje Loran, I don't know.

I have also a bug concerning screenshots, but it is completely different : I see only a grey picture instead of a correct image in the game menus. Screenshots although appear correctly in "My documents". This happens when your Windows session name holds some "non-english" characters, like accents, which is my case.

I can take screen shots manually but the game can't take automatic screen shots from the story line, the same goes for saves. All blank screens.

Hate to drag up an older thread, but the black screenshot problem is fixed for me. Thought I would share in case it helped someone else. I previously had Dragon Age installed on a seperate drive than My Documents. I decided to move my documents to the same drive since I decided I didn't want my mods taking up space on my primary system drive. Moving the my documents folder to the same drive the game was installed on cured the black screenshot issue. Hope that information helps someone.
