Yes but they are just lurking because they want to learn to unlock the Werewolf as well.
Hint: Elves are evil; kill them all

The werewolf companion is real, its extremely difficult to get however. First off, its impossible to get if you do the werewolf/dalish elf quest before the dwarf one. In the deep roads, there is a note thats a thinly veiled shoutout to mass effect 2:
---------------------------------------------------------
"Mass will have an effect," he says. As long as it lifts us out, I figure. Should have specified "within my lifetime." "Gives us time to talk", he says. "How's a dwarf get named Shepard?" Up yer shaft. "No really, because blah, blah, blah." Axe answers, but I still hear him. Drip... ground. Drip... ground. Worse than his talking. Think I'll drop out for some air. Excerpt: Dwarven Verse in One Volume Selection: Load Limit Reached Anonymous scratching recovered from a cage hoist... eventually.
---------------------------------------
Get the note, make sure to keep it in your inventory, and go to the dalish elves. When you enter the forest and find the insane hermit, talk to him and if you enter the right dialogue you'll find a new conversation option about the cage mentioned in the note above. You can then trade him the book you receive from doing that elf romance quest (with the inept hunter trying to woo the girl, its in the dalish camp) and uniting them. The hermit leaves then comes back with the werewolf in the cage. You can then free him, or kill him.
How do I know you aren't lying as well though?ReubenLiew wrote...
Oh dear lord.
They're pulling your leg. There is no werewolf character in the game, I know sarcasm and jokes are hard to tell in text form but surely by now you'd have realized they're all just extracting the urine from you, right?

Don't listen to Reuben, she's just joking around. Alexandus gave one of the best guides. It's a pretty hard quest, imo.

Loghain *IS* the secret werewolf companion, if you take him into the Korcari Wilds during a Blood Moon he will transform into a Werewolf! Havn't you wondered why he is so hairy?

According to the sex-scene with Morrigan, he's not hairy at all. Maybe she made him shave beforehand?

Lol I stole Loghain''s thunder there and took Morrigan for myself, Maker's beard I can be selfish sometimes. So I didn't get to experience Loghain uncut and uncensored. He just strikes me as a guy who would beat a Sasquatch in a chest hair competition.
