Just give them a million credits, then they get new stuff, and they still have to deal with the rng.

I had to unlock everything tediously and repetitively from the start...

Why should someone who just got the game get a pack containing more than one character or weapon?

For me the initial starter pack was enough... and it only had like 5 cards in it.

Why does it bother you if they get a better starter pack than you though? And take into consideration that you've played since the beginning. When the DLCs hit you probably had most of or all of the old stuff. Think about the overwhelming amount of items that a player has to unlock if he or she were to start today.

Why! Every gun in the game is viable and FUN on bronze, I have all of them and I mostly play uncommon weapons when cruising bronze.i

The best reason is that the playerbase for this game is going to decrease precipitiously between now and Christmas.  The avalanche of new games starts this month and will proceed for another 2 months, then December 25th will seal the deal.

Don't get me wrong:  There will still be enough players that we'll still be able to find a game most days, but without some significant encouragement I think the chances of a new player starting today and then playing the multiplayer for more than a couple weeks is tiny.

By the by, if the best argument against this that players can come up with is a variation of "I had to walk 5 miles uphill to school through 2 feet of snow," then there really isn't a good argument against it.

Harriers for everybody.

The problem with this is that the players will be put off by the fact that none of the guns they unlock can measure up to it.

Which thereby leads to the conclusion..............

That they won't feel rewarded for their trouble and quit? Not sure I'm following you now, sir!

No that AR's all need work because they all stink outside of the Harrier.

If you are coming from MW or BF and trying the ME3 Demo, the Harrier is the only gun that functions  even remotely close to what a SKAR or AK does.

Because if their guns suck really bad hopefully they will stay in Bronze/Silver instead of coming to Gold/Platinum to be carried since they have a Wraith 1 and feel badass.

IMO the Harrier is a bit too good and I wouldn't compare the effectiveness of ARs in this game to what they can do in other games, as the game mechanics are entirely different, but I do agree that some of the ARs could use a small buff. This isn't the place though.

Carrying those bewildered beginners who join a gold match is fun! And players do that with a Shuriken 2 as well. Don't think you'd see that many more of them just because they are given some good stuff. What makes some people enter gold right from the get-go is more a question of mentality and/or ignorance.

It's an OK idea, but don't give them an ultra rare. Maybe 2 rare characters, 2 rare weapons, 2 gears, and some consumables. That is it, NO ULTRA RARES.

We have to deal with the stupid RNG to get URs, why should they get the Harrier of all weapons?

You're right. Something does need to be done to draw the newer players in and keep them. Yesterday in a similar thread I suggested increasing the pack diversity so you had a higher chance of getting the thing you wanted. For new and casual players I believe they are after specific characters more than anything else. If they unlock a character they want to play they will have fun playing while they unlock more things naturally. To solve this I thought they should add a character pack to the store which had 1 uncommon or rare character and 4 random items for 25-30k.

+1 for this as well. Getting them some gear, too, would be super important - like two ranks of each silver gear or something.

Such a great idea, we need new players with better gear so they don't get kicked as much.

One Rare to rule them all, One Rare to find them,
One Rare to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

(sorry, I couldn't resist)

OR: 12 victory packs...?

Having not read the full 4 pages,
but my suggestion would be to give ALL players(new and old) 1 (one) or 2 (two) or
maybe even 3 (three) FREE Premium Spectre Packs.
(being that I'm one of the old players that Pre-orded the game and been playing MP since)

Which would "hopefully" give the new players a UR weapon/character and some upgrades for the old players.

I support the OP idea, but a UR is going too far, i doubt EA will allow a UR, a lot of uncommons and some rares with a JEP is the best option, lets say maybe 4-6 rares and 2 uncommons just in case.

I'd be happy with this. It's not like it hurts us. Anything that brings more people into the game's got to be a good thing. Sure they wont be up to gold standard at first, and some of them may never be, but even a few more players would be nice.
