Thessia would have been nice (pre-invasion, I mean), and I would have liked the the return of Illium, Tuchanka and Omega. Sur'kesh, the Salarians were practically avoided by the Reapers, it would have made a nice hub world. Palaven or Menae maybe, but they were hit pretty bad.

Seeing all the capitals at all before they got ruined would have been nice... you know: give some bloody appreciation for what got destroyed rather than thinking "eh, what a dump" the moment we land.

I would have been to see Thessia and Sur'kesh as Hub Worlds since there weren't attack towards the end of the game, and Omega is gonna be a Hub after the DLC.

When did Illium get attacked by the Reapers?

Early in the war, I think, but after Earth and Palaven.

I'm happy with just the one hub world. It wouldn't make much sense for Shepard to keep going back a bunch of different places.

A mission on one world, with a sort of ambient section similar to the party in Kasumi's Memory would be more appropriate.

Crucible. We should be able to visit the place it's being build in, talk to people we've recruited to help with it, see how Breeder Queen betrays the Alliance etc.

+ Omega, but that's coming with DLC most likely

This could work, the planets description does not mention any Reaper presence.  Some side missions involving stoping Cerberus influence on the planet could help it feel more expanded like the Citadel.  Something like the Hanar Diplomat or Volus Ambassador missions.

If the Omega DLC rumors are true, I would be surprised if Omega did not become a hub world.

The Citadel could always use more areas, it's one of my favorite places in all of the Mass Effect series.

Wherever they were we should've gradually lost them throughout the game as the Reapers took them over, giving a feeling of actually being up against something big, powerful, and destructive, and so we'd give a damn when we lost them.
