One of the cities on Thessia. Either Serrice or Armali.

If a Thessian city was a hub you accessed early in the game, it would have made the Priority: Thessia mission later all the more poignant. The player would be watching a city and characters they had hopefully grown attached to be annihilated by the Reapers.

Wherever they were we should've gradually lost them throughout the game as the Reapers took them over, giving a feeling of actually being up against something big, powerful, and destructive, and so we'd give a damn when we lost them.

exactly when Shepard was feeling sad for Thessia, like if it was a Hub World I would've felt something but nope

When did Illium get attacked by the Reapers?

Early in the game. It lies on the border between Terminus and Council space.

You can overhear a news story about Illium being attacked after the Menae mission IIRC. Also in Leviathan you can return to Illium and scan the planet. The planet description talks a bit about the Reaper invasion, and how Illium is putting up suprisingly stiff resistance.

I don't really see a point in making omega a hub world, unless they add a lot more than just retake it.
A few traders and random people talking ain't gonna cut it.

All homeworlds should have been hubs (and omega)
during Most part of the game. as game progresses
some hubworlds would be "post invasion" but still visitable

the one of the biggest "live-ship of the quarian fleet should have been
a place possible to visit and explore aswell.

all hubs pre invasion aswell for atleast half of the Maingame plot since earth was main target.
earth should have been a hub pre invation.
then after some exploring and small missions on earth.
like information gathering under supervision pending trial.
Edit: added this line (this exploration could also serve as a
"get up to speed with current event of previous games" thing

after trial and initial strike on earth. its not a hubworld anymore.

that what I think they should have done.

Omega and pre-invasion Thessia (the Reapers don't get it until later in the game).

Crucible. We should be able to visit the place it's being build in, talk to people we've recruited to help with it, see how Breeder Queen betrays the Alliance etc.

I've always liked this idea.

I don't really see it happening, but it would have been neat to hook up with Hackett in the flesh and to wander around the Crucible installation and see some of your assets actually working to build the thing.

I have mixed feelings about the rumored Retake Omega DLC.

I'd be stoked if it opens up another hub in the game, but at the same time it would have Cerberus as the main villians. I'm less excited about that as Cerberus probably had too big of a role in the game as it is.

What place do you feel should have been a Hub World?

Thessia
Sur'kesh
Omega - After DLC
Tuchanka

All of them!

Thessia and Tuchanka would be interesting, as they'd be timed:

Tuchanka only available after you cure the genophage - and if you sabotage it, and Wrex finds out, you are banished, etc

Thessia only available up until the Reaper invasion

All of them. But if I had to pick one it'd be a pre-invasion Thessia. After all, Thessia is supposed to be one of the (if not the biggest) major trading/economic centers of the galaxy.

I know, but I wanted all of them. :D

Again if I had to pick one it'd be Thessia. I can only imagine the snarky comments that James or Garrus would make about a planet full of blue space women.

Thessia and Sur'kesh seems like the most possible ones, along with Noveria

Agreed. It's too bad that Noveria only gets a fighter base in ME3. Port Hanshan was one of my favorite areas.

I'm happy with just the one hub world. It wouldn't make much sense for Shepard to keep going back a bunch of different places.

A mission on one world, with a sort of ambient section similar to the party in Kasumi's Memory would be more appropriate.

I disagree. ME1 had several and it needed more. I was struck with horrid DA2 flaskbacks, from retracing my steps...over...and over...and...

Having more hubs opens up the map. It's a Galaxy, for crying out loud.

Earth - actually.

I was expecting to see missions going back to Earth bringing in supplies or weapons or special forces from across the galaxy - you could have had intelligence gathering missions on what the Reapers were up to then report back to Anderson before heading off again.

While that was happening when they were talking up the totally lacklustre 'galaxy at war' system I was hoping you would be able to send the Normandy / Squad off to do other things to gather war assets etc.

Meh.

All pointless now - but ME3 really did need other hub worlds.

Well, as the final game in a trilogy...maybe they should have tried the epic win route (instead of epic fail) and made all the previous hubs available. Probably asking a lot, but this game was supposed to be the be-all-end-all of video games. I would have loved seeing hubs from ME1 and ME2. Especially since all we really saw was the bloody citadel. woohoo... ;(

Yeah, that didn't really work out the way I'd liked it to.

As for hubs: Thessia would have been a nice place for a hub.
The Crucible would have been fun to see being built. I could argue that it's supposed to be hidden, yet considering the massive amounts of material required to build it, I doubt a single ship with a stealth drive would've blown the cover.

I asked that recently in another thread, and was told that if you fail the Indoctrinated Hanar quest it is mentioned that the virus gets uploaded and takes down the Hanar planetary defense system, and the Reapers subsequently hammer the planet.

If you stop the plot there isn't any mention of the planet at all, but I would assume the Reapers still invade. The only difference is that the Hanar are holding out.

Or perhaps I should ask, what problem is adding more hub worlds supposed to solve, and why wouldn't a few traders and random people solve it?

I'd say it would give Bioware a chance to add new weapons and items into the game
