He is probably the most incredible war criminal to ever exist.
In the events of mass effect 1,2 and 3 he must have killed:
More then 3000 humans (add 1000 if you save council)
More then 400 krogans (add genocide if you pick it)
More then 1500 geths (add genocide too)
100 salarians
300 turians
Butarians=genocide
Quarians=genocide if you pick it
Rachni
He damaged the relais, he killed diplomates. Sacrificed many.
Even if Shepard is paragon he is still a war criminal.
You might say, he ended the war. Stalin ended the WW2 with the help of USA, he is a hero for some, but most people see him for his crimes (horrible)
I know its just fiction, and that its all for the gaming experience, but I still think that someone like Shepard could never be seen as a hero.
