As a reaction to all the Shadow threads lately I decided to design a build that would showcase her as something much more than a SS-hopping medic or a wallbang slashtard.

I came from a duration cloak myself and that build works perfectly fine if you have the descency to equip a proper gun. Meaning, something that can deal with armor.

The reality however is that Shadows have a bad reputation for being largely useless. They clock in dead last on the scoreboard, provide little dps against tougher enemies and spend most of the game in cloak SS-ing Marauders and Cannibals.

The Build:

Some points are left over from my build. I don't care about any of the remaining power evolutions. For me the build is complete as it is.

The 3-shot combo:
It is simple, three enemies in sight, cloak, shoot closest enemy, immediately SS another, as you come out of cloak you shoot the third. One 3-shot combo is enough to down any non boss type enemy in the game.  This includes Brutes, Pyros and Phantoms.

Shadowstriking Boss enemies:
Gold Banshees: Two to three Claymore shots takes down her barier, this will render her stationary and you can start the 3-shot combo. Once her Barrier is down one combo might do the job if you can land good Claymore shots on her skinny body. More likely though you will need a melee or another cloak cycle. Soloing Banshees is something you rarely want to do, but if you're clutching the Calymore makes this rather trivial. If someone else is holding her aggro it is safe to SS her when she is moving away from you. I've never been grabbed doing this. There are in fact many situations where it's perfectly safe to ss/melee her, you just have to get the feel for it.

Gold Atlas: Three Combos will do the job. It is easy to solo Atlases in the open as they need to turn around every time you SS-into position.

Some highlights:
0:22 Gold Brute is a joke
1:00 Soloing Gold Atlas in the open
3:21 Gold Atlas with 2 bars of shields dead in 1 cloak + light melee

Try the build if you find it interesting. And feel free to question any of my evolution choices, I am open for further optimization.

tl;dr:
This Shadow can kill a Brute in one cloak cycle, thats 3-4 seconds. The 3-shot combo can potentially take down 3 Marauders in in one cycle meaning 3-4 seconds. Shadowstrike everything including Banshees, Atlases and Brutes. An Atlas can be soloed in the open in about 15 seconds (less if you spec further SS-damage). This Shadow will crush the generic duration build in shear damage output and kill-speed.

I went with a 6/6/6/4/4 myself, and I equipped her with a Piranha X with shredder mod and smart choke. Of course, in TC I chose the use a power while cloaked option, and my SS tree is identical to yours. The idea was to create a jack of all trades Shadow while still boosting SS as much as possible. So, I can do two quick Shadow Strikes, and if something is still left standing the Piranha will make short work of whatever health the enemy still has. I made sure to keep ES fully leveled up however for crowd control and quick shield take down of larger targets. ES is also great for triggering any primed tech bursts. I find this set up works rather well for me, but we each have our own style of play.

Not quite skilled enough to pull this off but it did introduce me to how fun "SS -> Claymore to the face" is.

Ok, I gave it another try and I can now confirm that the immediate SS works also on the Xbox, if you manage to do the sequence "cloak -> shoot -> SS" very fast.

After killing enemy no. 1 with your Claymore you need to focus on your 2nd target immediately and trigger SS as fast as possible.

If anything gets in your way (2nd target is hiding, getting killed by a squadmate or something like that) you will have to endure the cloak cooldown, before you can SS (or cloak again).

Which makes the build a little too risky for Gold or Platinum in my opinion. It happened quite often, that my squadmates were killing off the other potential targets or the target managed to somehow escape my aim and the game didn't let me SS in time. It's fun on Silver though.

But no matter how hard I tried, the Reload trick just wouldn't work on the Xbox. As previously said, neither hammering the X-Button, nor keeping it pressed nor pressing it only once will make my Claymore reload during the SS animation. I always come out of the SS and still have to reload the shotgun.

I also tried different timings, but in the end SS is either preventing the reload from happening (if triggered too early) or SS is just a simple regular way to reload cancel the weapon (which still needs a certain amount of time because of the slow reload animation for the Claymore).

Can anybody here confirm that he pulled off a reload during a SS or Biotic Charge animation ON THE XBOX?

Saw some more Shadow threads so I thought I would Necro this little Gem.

This does work on xbox... cloak, quickly shoot and HOLD THE TRIGGER, then SS rather quickly after you shoot.

While you move with the SS, your Claymore reloads, and the second you uncloak from SS, you can Claymore someone else.

This build is EXTREMELY high risk/high reward, but some of the most fun I've had playing ME3 Multi. Many thanks to synapsefire for sharing.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work on Atlases anymore, and this was one of its best uses. Any thoughts?
