Don't worry, I shed manly tears as well.
Go read the deleted content thread in the spoiler forum, if you haven't already. It'll make you cry.

5325 megaton right in the moneymaker. Expect nothing but the best from the pride and joy of the UNSC arsenal.

Hmm I find this latest batch of Liara bashing to be... quite short of slam dunk trollness.
Good hustle though!

With the way Bioware writers her, yes, with the way her fans write her, no.

I thought she made a good squadmate. Stasis and Warp Ammo were really helpful.
And I like Liara a lot. She's my favorite character. I just feel that she would've made a bad parent.

She would be an overprotective parent, since all the **** has happened to her anyway.

Does anyone else feel that Liara would've made a bad parent?
Yes. She's emotional unstable, an open stalker (without regret), snaps at people for no good reason, has many enemies and lived for 50 years in seclusion. Also, she has no sense of humour. Every parent should have a sense of humour.
Now, Jack would be a good mother. A bit overprotective perhaps but I think she would do everything for her kid.
Plus, Jack has a great sense of humour.

So, just to get this straight in my own head... Liara is the special favorite pet of the writers, and they show their love for her by making a humorless, emotionally stunted, irritable stalker who goes around mind-raping people, and most of the other characters can't stand her.
Seems legit... <_<

I should rephrase: "No, just a bad member of the crew."
It's a shame because after ME2's LotSB DLC I was beginning to like her, but ME3 Liara needs to GTFOutta my ship.

Sadly I think Liara should wait on having kids for a couple hundred years so she can mature some more. Though she wouldnt be having Shep's kids then so yea...

Liara is only 109, it will be another 240-50 years before she feels right for her to settle down and have children.
She's the oldest. Falere is the youngest.EntropicAngel wrote...
Pretty sure she's the youngest. But anyways.

@OP: Nah. Liara is not better or worse as a parent than the rest of the "more normal" characters in ME
Thinking about this, Shepard may be less of a dad/mother since his/her past with dysfunctional/dead families. Only the spacer Shepard might be a good parent.
Well, inmo, good parents are:
- Ashley - as seen in the game, family means everything to her and she's already experienced as "older sister". Can see her having 3, 4 kids in the long run.
- Liara - since she's the reason why this topic exists. She might wait a bit and give Shepard long years of childless pleasure (read: lotsasex). Maybe when he's in his late fourties Liara might want to bear his child. Most likely 2 children.
- Kaidan - hands down: why can't he be a good dad? Maybe he's not the classic baseball-playin' dad with a history as player in high school, but at least he's the understanding, supporting one. He just needs to get rid of his tendency to break someone's neck with biotics when angry
- Garrus & Tali. Technically they could be good parents, but with Shepard or with themselves they can't become via the "ol' way". Adoption of a kid is still an option 'though.
Garrus will be a hell of a dad and Tali? Give her 10 more years and she might be a good mom.
- Miranda - okay. She can't be a mom anytime soon. But why not adopting? There are hints of a more calm and family loving person behind the ice-queen-layer. And without Cerberus as constant threat, she could settle down.
- Jacob - meh. Remember what he did? What gives you the idea he might be loyal now? -.-
- Jack - meh. No offense, guys. She had an awful past and thanks to Shepard she's on a good way (if paragoned). Give her some years and she might be a stable mom. A good parent? That's uncertain.
- Samantha & Steve - tbh, not evaluated yet. I don't know. Both seem to be capable of being good parents, via adoption. Samantha could get pregnant via in vitro fertilization, Steve needs to adopt for sure.
Did I miss anyone?
Oh, yes.
Thane - he's dead
