Vorcha Soldier - don't like flamer
Drell Vanguard - bad combination of powers for such a squishy character
Human Sentinel - with an Asari Adept available seems kinda useless
I use the Human Sentinel to get Biotic Explosions and level up my Sentinel class in a fun way. So there's a new prespective to it... That's IF you promote your characters. I do.
Two words...Krogan with Claymore easiest 1-20 in silver of any class i've promoted (twice in that case)

2 human engineer (this class sucks so bad)
Human Engineer is arguably the best tech expert in the game. Normally, I would ask how you came to the conclusion that they're bad, but I don't think that's necessary. I'm used to assuming that when someone says that a good class is bad, it means they don't know how to play it, and are not willing to experiment any further.

As for the OP, I've come around to enjoying most classes. Though the Turian Sentinel is probably my least played class. He's the one hybrid character I really don't care for.
This is surprising! Now that you've come to like the Batarian Sentinel, you should give the Turian Sentinel another go as well. Use a 6/6/6/4/4 build and you can basically add tons of synergy to a mixed team that's completely lacking it. Probably one of my top 5 characters.
I should give him another shot. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the class, he just ends up not particularly fitting my playstyles very well. Logically, I understand the benefits he has, and what he can bring to a team, just have struggled to do well with him myself.
Edited to add: To be fair, there are a lot of classes that I dismissed early on that I have eventually learned to love. As I've become better at the game, I've consistently found that the number of classes I enjoy playing grows. The BatSent, until this week, was one that I literally never played. Hadn't specced him out in forever. While the buffs helped, I think my ability as a player likely had a greater impact in my enjoyment of running him this week.

Too all the drellguard haters: Have you ever tried playing one with a GPS and an adrenaline 3 mod? You're untouchable! And if a few stray shots manage to hit you, you get your shields restored every 3 seconds or so (biotic charge). You get to hold the GPS charge while dodging! If you slap on incendiary ammo you can biotic charge your way to your own fire explosions! I could go on and on about how boss the drellguard is.....

Score is irrelevant. While you're standing there spamming Biotic Slash and Biotic Charge against Cannibals, a good Shadow will be taking out the more dangerous enemies.

The only characters I feel that I'm lacking with is:
1. Phoenix Adept - This class seems to require that you be incredibly close to the enemy to actually use it to any great lengths but it happens to be rather squidgy. So unless you're standing behind a wall, what's the point? I get that you can lash mooks, even shielded mooks, but again what's the point when smash requires you be next something bigger.
2. Phoenix Vanguard - Pretty much the same as above, better survivability but same problem. Hell, this class seems easier to make BEs than the Adept. Smash + Charge.
3. Human Vanguard - Good on Bronze, but that's about it. The only thing it seems capable of doing is Nova spamming, which is only good against mooks (unless you want to sit there for several minutes Nova spamming that Atlas). I find this to one of my worst classes as I just don't get it. So it can kill mooks? There are other class that do this job and more.

My least favorite class out of any is the Human Sentinel. I find no use for the thing, and it's just obnoxious to play as.
Second would be any Turian class. They were pretty sick unlocking when the game came out, but they're vitally a pointless class, as they really have nothing to contribute except MAYBE Marksman. I wish they could roll/sidestep, and I wish they had more unique powers!
Finally, the Batarian Soldier. I just don't find it fun anymore.
I really don't play with any classes anymore though...the only ones I've been focusing on are: Drell Vanguard, Human Vanguard, N7 Slayer, Geth Infiltrator, N7 Shadow, N7 Paladin, Human Engineer, Battlefield 3 Soldier, Vorcha Soldier, Phoenix Adept, Drell Adept, and N7 Fury. All the other classes are utterly pointless to me.

If you had asked me several months ago I would have a much better list but now I seem to be pretty competent with just about every class and character in this game.

Check out Archire's recent post about Novaguards. While the playstyle may turn some people off, they are actually a lot more powerful than that, and definitely a solid Gold class.

Funny you should mention that. I actually just checked his post; rather informative. I'll admit that I haven't actually tried the Novaguard since before the recent buffs, so I'll have to re-level it as it's currently sitting at level 1.
Probably not something I'd use for PUGs, but most likely solos or with friends.

Human solider - Old fashion.
Quarian Engineer - Geth engineer own them.
Out of topic: I like most vanguard aside from drell. They're fun to play and some of them are viable in gold.

Human adept - Singularity just isn't the same as in single player, not a fan of shockwave, crap health and shields.
N7 demolisher - Pylon does spit out grenades quick enough and to any benefit from the extra damage/shields you need to sit in 1 spot for the entire match. Also promotes teammates to camp and try to hog your much needed grenade supply.

Yeah, I do find them to maybe be the most obnoxious class to bring into public games. I tend save them for duos, either with another vanguard or an adept.

The Drellguard takes a lot of time to master, but it can be quite deadly if used right. Always make sure your recharge time is at 200%. The goal is to be constantly on the move with this guy. You want to always be charging, shooting, and running. Try to keep the grenades up as well, because they'll help take care of a majority of opponents before moving on to bigger opponents, or single opponents. Equipping an SMG and a Pistol usually works (I use Hurricane and Paladin). Paladin can take out larger units, while Hurricane makes quick work of smaller units.
It's really a blast to play as!
