Ya, because nuclear weapons think for themselves and come to the logical conclusion that blowing themselves up and wiping out their creators is the only way to stop more nuclear weapons from being created by their creators and client states...flaw in that logic?

Don't make me bust out the crayons again, buddy.

Don't leave gapping holes in your logic. Or did the leviathans miss the whole point that they are organic life so creating AIs to harvest organic life every 50,000 couldn't possibly go wrong. Can I borrow your crayons to join the dots for you buddy.

Edit: Oh yes and your analogy doesn't even come close to being similar, so no gold stars for you until you get it right.

The Leviathan didn't create the catalyst to harvest organic life. They created the catalyst to preserve organic life at any cost. The catalyst came to the conclusion that the cycle and harvest was necessary to achieve this goal.

It's even dumber. This is what happens when you try to over explain a concept that is stupid at it's core. Any attempt to elaborate (elaborating in this case meaning "make **** up") will only make things worse.

BioWare hold onto the delusion that we don't understand their awesome artistic ending and explanation for the origin of the Reapers. So they explain it again and again. Each time making it worse.
Those who recognise it for what it is will not be impressed, and those who defend it would've done so without these over explanations. Resulting in a giant waste of time for all involved.

NO IT'S NOT STUPID!!!!  75 PERFECT SCORES!!!!  Don't you guys get it?!!!    It's perfect because it got 75 perfect scores!!!

But I do understand it!  Now that I've seen the Catalyst.... Synthesis is amazing!  There's nothing quite as exhilirating as having genetic material forced upon me.  The rest don't support it, but they will eventually.  Nevermind indoctrination, the Reapers would never do that to us.  Forget Mass Effect, that's old news.  Who wants to fight the Reapers and have them call us insects anyway?  Nevermind that they were our mortal enemies, let's have  a beer with them at the Citadel.  That's way too video gamey and so yesterday,  THIS IS ART!!!

I'm sorry but I'm just so excited for what EA will bring us in the future.  Mass Effect 3 was just so damn amazing.  I'll do my best to calm down but every time I think about that Harbinger battle where he just left out of nowhere, that was the best boss battle ever.  It makes me want to play Mass Effect 3 over and over again.

I must have been an ace player too because I was able to dodge Harbinger's beams even when I walked.

Waste of time? Did you see all the EMS we got? You can't tell me EMS is meaningless.

lol

I thought the idea of the leviathans being around was okay, and even the fact that the reapers are modelled after them is fine. But yeah what makes leviathan bad is that it drives home that god kid is there. It really doesn't make any sense either. Leviathans are this super powerful race, still even after millions or possibly billions of years they are still more advanced than the reapers to the point that they can watch galactic events and hide themselves from discovery, yet back when they made god kid he was able to wipe them all out just like that without reapers. What? How could such a powerful race be subdued like that so quickly? Why didn't they just destroy god kid? They hid to preserve their existence so they won't get killed, yet let god kid kill everyone because the AI is just fulfilling its programming. Huh? Under that logic shouldn't they submit to god kid and get smoothied into another reaper? This story doesn't make any sense at all. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

"If they are fighting to live that does not mean they are happy with the results of the catalyst."

That definitely makes no sense.

Isn't every organic fighting for the right to live? The Leviathans should put their personal feelings about "lesser races" aside, and team up with the lesser races in a fight for survival. Every other race had to learn how to throw away petty grudges and eprsonal feelings about each other, like the Krogan and Turians, Batarians and Humans, and band together so they have a chance of surviving agaisnt the Reapers. But the issue is the Leviathans don't know how to swallow their pride, even for just a minute.

Here's want your not getting.
The leviathan feelings of the lesser races does not mean thay are happy of the results. It just means they don't care if others races get harvested as long as they don't die.
That does not mean that are ok with the catalayst actions. That means they are arragance cowards. Them not caring for other races does not mean they are ok with the catalyst solution.
They were just about to enslave shapard and run agein till Shepard brought up the fact the reapers were coming to the leviathens planet.
They are not happy with wants going on with the catalyst because they reather be in control.

Who said they were happy about the Catalyst following its purpose?

I think synthetics are evil, so I'm going to create synthetics to prevent the creation of synthetics.

Don't question my logic, human.

The so called "apex race" can be bested if someone smashes their orbs.

Also, are we really going down that path of creating synthetics to stop synthetics again?

No. the only choice that is based on the catalyst perspective is synhtesis. Control and destory are out side of his control.. He tells you this. In fact, the fact that he offers synthesis contridict the idea that this issue can't be fixed outside conflict. Only destory and control are solution that lead to more conflict.

The catalyst states thatthe only solution that garantees no more conflict woth oganics and synthtics is synthesis, how does that mean more conflict?

He never said control would lead to more conflict only destroy, according to him, does that.

Also "In fact, the fact that he offers synthesis contridict the idea that this issue can't be fixed outside conflict."
you're missing the point here, synthetics and organics are doomed to end up fighting eachother unless he intervenes with his solutions, synthesis is him interferring. Just like the current cycles are, just like control is with Reapers acting as peace keepers, just like killing all synthetics in destroy is.

He refers to each one as a solution to the problem he himself presented. That's why Shepard is there,to help "find a new solution" He doesn't sya synthesis is the only real solution simply the it's simply the one he favors most, since in control he ceases to be and destroy it's a long term solution, much like his curret cycle solution isn't one, they're both restart buttons.

The Leviathan DLC was written to explain the Mass Effect 1 plot as to why the reapers designed the relays, and built what they built in order to speed the cycles. I wonder what would have happend had the civilizations not ever built an AI, would the reapers still come in to begin the harvest?

Why not? If someone is threatening you with people with guns, one of the more reliable means to stop that is having your own people with guns.

Unless you truly believe that all synthetics are innately treacherous, using synthetics to stop synthetics is mundane.

They explained this in Leviathan, whether you think what they did is stupid or not is besides the point because we've already seen the results. It doesn't take a genius to point out the obvious fact that the Reapers are a mistake. The point is that a powerful race created a flawed intelligence by giving it a mandate in a moral vaccum, and that intelligence was powerful enough to destroy its creators and hold the entire galaxy hostage until they must be stopped one way or another.

Well, mostly because they're becoming the problem that they're trying to stop.

Sovereign even promoted the geth to carry out attacks against organics, which kind of goes against his very reason for existing.

Also, comparing synthetics with guns is a poor analogy, since guns are inanimate objects while synthetics can start to think outside their parameters and become unpredictable and potentially dangerous to other beings on their own, as shown with the Catalyst.

So let me get this straight. These Leviathans made this ****er, and gave it this prime directive to do anything necessary, including "yo dawging" it, and still think this ****er is doing what is necessary even though they're still pissed off that they made them into marmalade first, and they're pissed off enough to join the fight, but not on our side, but on their own side.

What a bunch of ****ing idiots! Still think the Starboy did the right thing. I've got this recipe for Calamari Gumbo, but we'll have to put them through a blender first. They're probably too tough and like rubber. But be careful....

Image IPB

Dumb cuttlefish is still dumb. The reapers are the problem. Time for them to be blown up. Then we make the cuttlefish die.
