ME3 and Dragon's Dogma. D-dogma was a surprise really, I mainly got it because of the RE6 demo that was included . Turned out to be pretty awesome though. Honorable mention - Walking Dead.

I downloaded the demo with the character creator for that the other day and I love how extensive it is. I wish Mass Effect had a character creator that good.

The Witcher 2, but if that doesn't count then Spec Ops: The Line.

Probably The Secret World, although the only other games I've played this year that come to mind are ME3 and Kingdoms of Amalur and all three have been disappointing in some way.

I won't go into ME3 but KoA had way too much quest fodder to retain any sense of urgency in the story (sometimes I even forgot where in the main quest I was, I spent so long running errands) and there were perhaps 3 times in the whole game I felt I had any agency over how to solve quests.

The Secret World is pretty good; I like the ability wheel a lot for all the freedom it gives, and some of the investigation missions are really good, they can be massively rewarding to figure out properly (makes you realize how forgiving puzzles can be in other games and how rarely you really have to think).

That said the combat is repetitive, and it takes so long to farm the ability points to make a new deck to change things up it makes the problem worse. Also, no quests aside from the main story have a hand-in, once you finish the quest objectives you basically just get a debrief text from your faction and that's it, which makes it pretty difficult to get invested after a while. Given how few quests you can have at once I get why having to hand them all in would be a pain but it seems like a waste of some great characters not to offer more resolution.

Also, whoever decided there should be quest objectives you have to die (and ghost walk) to get to is a jerk. Seriously, cut that stuff out!

So yeah, not a great year so far.

ME3 and Guild Wars 2. I haven't been able to play Dark souls yet, but that may jump up there... Depending on whether or not I can look past the technical issues it's having.

Mass Effect 3 is my favorite so far, but I have to say Binary Domain and Spec op the line are two big surprises for me this year.

Binary Domain also touches the topic about human and robots but grapple with some Blade Runner-esque philosphical issues which is also a nice touch compare to what mass effect 3 did.

Spec ops the line delivered a short but nice story about a "Mordin" like character (I mean a tragic hero type character) which is quite unusual in the shooter games these days.

The Extended Cut fixed it for me, so Mass Effect 3.

Dragon's Dogma is the only game I've purchased this year that belongs to this year, so I'd have to say Dragon's Dogma naturally (also it was a pretty enjoyable game although flawed). This year is really a terrible year for gaming. 2013 sounds good though.

The Walking Dead is the only 2012 game I bought. I think Dishonored will probably end up my GOTY.

The only 2012 games I've played are ME3, The Walking Dead and Alan Wake (PC version). My favorite so far would be Alan Wake. If that doesn't count because it was originally released for X360 in 2010, I'm left with The Walking Dead.

It was good but it didn't have as many memorable moments as they first two games did.

ME3 was just too much of a disappointment for me even after the Extended Cut, so I'd have to go with Max Payne 3.

I am honestly unsure if I've played a game released this year. Not like it's been a great year for games.

So I guess then Dishonored will win by default when it comes out.

Sleeping Dogs by default, since I'm replaying games from last year. This year isn't near as good as 2011 which was phenomenal:

-TW2
-Skyrim
-Arkham City
-Hard Reset
-Deus: Ex Hr
-Saints Row 3

Well so far I've bought:

ME3
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Dragon's Dogma
Journey

I'm gonna pick up"

Hao 4
Black Ops 2

So far XIII-2 is my favorite game of the year followed by Journey. BlOps definitely won't change that, and Halo probably won't either.

Binary Domain handled the whole synthetic/organic theme a lot better than ME3, and Spec Ops handled PTSD much better.

Both also had much better endings, but that probably goes without saying.

So far? ME3 and Walking Dead. I'm thinking both Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed 3 will be GOTY worthy. Then there's Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 as darkhorses. I haven't played Dragon's Dogma or The Witcher 2, but I will because I've heard good things.

Mass Effect 3 or Walking Dead. Easily. Probably ME3 followed by Walking Dead. Both are amazing games.
