...Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning...

God I completely forgot about koa. I stopped playing a while back cause I got stuck on a boss fight and didn't want to switch down the difficulty

Guild Wars 2. I can't believe I'm putting an MMO here, but GW2 is really a great game.

Unfortunately, I also got bored with KoA very quickly. Guess it just isn't the game for me.

I'm still catching up on 2011 games, let alone this year's releases, but Diablo III has been my favourite 2012 game while the appeal lasted.

Can't really decide. The only new game I bought and played this year was Mass Effect 3.

Ha yeah I only kept my copy for about a week, traded it in, and put the money towards Mass Effect 3. Which in hindsight was probably not the best financal decision I've ever made...

I did the same thing. Kept getting my arse handed to me, badly, but I think in my case, I didn't have a saved game I could go back to, so I gave up. Chakrams were a heck of a lot of fun, though.

As for favorite games of 2012...I did like Dragon's Dogma, but nobody ever wanted to hire my main pawn, Iorveth. Seriously, what is that about? He was a butt-kicker!

I have a feeling that in about a week, my answer to this question will probably be Borderlands 2. Then a little later, Assassin's Creed 3 or Resident Evil 6. I'm just sayin'.

Edit: Doh! I forgot Dishonored. Add that to my list.

I finally got Amalur for a good price on Origin recently and I must admit its better than I previously gave it credit for. Maybe not Game of the Year good, but very solid with a ton of content in the base game. And it has a surprisingly good story at the heart of it...but man did I have to go through a lot of boring cliche stuff in the beginning to get to that point.

Well, for me, since I can't nominate Skyrim again, and yet I'm still playing it, I'll say Max Payne 3. I've had more fun with bullet time and shootdodge than anything else offered this particular year.

It's been a pretty friggin lean year though, and the one that should've had it in the bag...well, you know.

Actually, from the gameplay videos I have seen from Borderlands 2, I am almost convinced this will be my favorite this year. Of course I realize I am completely buying the hype here. I really should know better :)

How much was it?

Been waiting for it to drop to around $10-15.

Damn... I really wanted my answer to this to be Mass Effect 3.
But yeah, fake promises and a horrible Ps3 ports that hardly runs at more than 20 fps made the game a good candidate for "biggest dissapointement of the years".

Anyway... on topic.
So far I still thin I'd have to go with Journey, the game was simply amazing. The best 2 gaming related hours I've spent in years.

At this point of the year I have to say The Walking Dead is the best game of 2012 with Mass Effect 3 as a close runner-up and Sleeping Dogs with the distant third place.

They had it for $19 as part of their big Labor Day sale. I was waiting for it to go under $30 to grab it so that worked out quite well for me. But I think its back up to $39 now. The original $60 felt far too expensive for me based on the demo, but now that I'm playing it, it had more content than I expected.

Ok after playing Spec Ops The Line I can say that it's an amazing game and certainly one of the best games I played this year.
Sleeping Dogs was good, but nothing exceptional.

I still have high hopes for Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed III later this year, so we'll see :)

Assassin's Creed 3. No, I don't need to have played it to know it is my favorite game of 2012.
