... but why this? Why an anime about Vega?
This movie already pisses ME-fans off because it doesn't work in this style, interested anime-fans recognize it's poor quality, and out of all the great characters no one asked for more Vega.
Where is the group they are trying to attract?

What the hell is with the Krogan design, and worse...I understand it's an anime styled movie, but did we really have to give it bad voice acting, too?
I didn't spend money on Leviathan (though I heard it was awesome--little too late for story DLC, don't you think, tho?), and I won't spend money on this.

I know what's Vegas' lone purpose, but a anime movie still doesn't make sense.Shermos wrote...
It's trying to attract people who are new to the franchise and used Vega a lot in their squad. He was written as a bit of a ****** deliberately, so the new guys who don't know all the lore and technology don't feel stupid themselves.
Imagine the usual guy who is stupid enough to jump into Mass Effect right at the third installment: Just there for the tps action, probably didn't even pay enough attention to the lore to know where Anderson was born.
Does someone like that really watches a Japanese anime movie about one of the soldiers?

To invest heavily on mr vega suggests that bioware will make the next game sequel within vega;s lifetime.

BioWare has clearly proven they more a company than artists.Calibrations Expert wrote...
They needed to make a new squadmate for ME3, and they decided to tell his back story in a cartoon. It's as simple as that. Bioware never had any intention to make a cartoon for any other character or for anything else.
I can't believe it anymore that they are doing this "because they want to tell the story".

No thanks. This looks awful.
And what's with that lame 'Forever Normandy' badge? What does that even mean?!

I thought it was odd aswell, but then someone said its the equalivant of someone in the US wearing a "Remember Alamo" T-shirt or something.

That...does seem odd. Is this supposed to be some kind of tribute to the SR-1? Isn't the SR-2 and Shepard already alive and kicking at this point? Yeahyeah Cerberus and all, but still.

SR1, I simply cannot imagine it being SR2 given the timeline.

Sadly this is really the most reasonable answer I've seen up to this point...

The respect just seems odd. The Alliance can't even be bothered to officially go out to the remains of the SR-1 and instead contacts a Shepard who may or may not be alive and working with a terrorist group if rurmors are correct to go stick a memorial up somewhere and collect dog tags.
Nevermind that the SR-1 was one of the most advanced ships in the Alliance fleet, was a speical joint project with the Turians, and may or may not have classified technology just sitting there, in the ice.

It irks me to have required reading (or viewing) subjects in things like this.
Aside from that, apparently there's a Cerberus double agent in Vega's crew or something. Yay. More Cerberus.

But that's not something everyone knows at that point. And you must remember many people died on the SR-1, not only Shepard.

Yes this has been addressed already. My main contention which admittedly I didn't specify on in the quoted post, was that the Alliance...really doesn't care about the SR-1, which you can see in an older post.
