I agree that the Reapers never worked well as Lovecraftian horror. Lovecraftian mythos is tied implicitly to the fear of the unknowable and unfathomable, but the Reapers were simply super-advanced technology, not mythical. Mass Effect 1 never shied from mixing 'sci-fi' with 'fantasy', but the Reapers were probably a point that shouldn't have been kept as long as it was.IsaacShep wrote...
Wellll, I thought keeping them in mystery was lame soCDRSkyShepard wrote...
The problem with them doing anything with the Reapers besides keeping them shrouded in mystery was they were going to have people that think the backstory was lame.ME is not a lovecraftian story thus Reapers never worked as lovecraftian villains to me so I wanted there to be some explanation to them and frankly, I like the explanation. Though it rips off heavily from VIKI (I, Robot)

It might be awkward, but Omega may be the first DLC I deliberatly don't play on any 'canon' playthrough, just because I like the idea of a remaining Cerberus bastion in the post-war far more interesting than I do a return of Omega to Aria.mango smoothie wrote...
Well here's hoping we'll be able to kick Aria out as leader of Omega at the end. I really have no interest in leaving her in charge of Omega again.

To be fair most of the DLC that comes out aren't ending related.jules_vern18 wrote...
Endings stay unchanged, my viewpoint stays unchanged. I have no need to buy filler in the middle of a story that has already been completed unless I'm satisfied with the WAY in which it was completed. Criticize that all you want, but I won't encourage any DLC that continues to ignore the narrative travesties that have occurred since ME3's release.
You'll have to wait for ME4 then.jules_vern18 wrote...
BIOWARE: if you throw me even a BONE on these endings...enough so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment after completing this game...I will happily buy all previous DLC to complete my collection. Until then, sorry - I'll be spending my money elsewhere.
Thats actually nice!jules_vern18 wrote...

Yay war numbers
The whole idea that the game boiled down to a 'score' basically pissed me off. It ruined the plot and story telling aspect. If they had just hidden the numbers from us (still count them, but just don't give us an interface for them) I'd have been fine.
