To be honest, I get the sense that Bioware disliked everything about ME2. All the weapons introduced in ME2 are nearly worthless in ME3, with the exception of the Mattock and the Geth Plasma Shotgun. And in campaign, all the ME2 characters got the shaft as well.

Ascending in weapons teirs does make you statistically stronger.

Its just that its with all weapons, and not just two or three weapons.

Ultimately, Its a billion times better then obsoleting everything from the last tier.

I'm still not getting your point... 

You get gear that is 100% to 30% better then the last tier of gear when you start unlocking weapons of a new level.

This makes you almost 30-75% more effecive on the higher tiers of gear.

This totally obsoletes having better weapons entierly, as you can just make any weapon "Better" at higher tiers.

The Scimitar has literally 100% accuracy when used with a Geth, Destroyer, or Turian Soldier. Like really... it shoots basically one pellet it is so accurate.

The Piranha still has a clearly visible spread of about 6-8 inches in between the circle's radius even with Hunter Mode on.

The Scimitar on the other hand has a spread of maybe 1-2 inches at mid range.

Go ahead and try it.

But seriously, even if the Piranha misses 1 or 2 pellets, the ROF and the superior  damage per pellet still allow for a larger margin of error. 

Not to mention bad accuracy becomes irrelevant on the Turian Sol.

Except on the accuracy boosters, the Piranha's missing with way more than 1 or 2 pellets. With geth, turian soldier and destroyer, it will be hitting with most of its pellets though. Even with smart choke, it's just not physically possible for other classes to hit anything smaller than a Brute with all the pellets in a shot, except at extremely close ranges.

Still, you're right. It's 50% better rate of fire, and significantly higher damage per shot just... more than cover the difference. You don't need to hit with all its pellets to kill small guys quickly. It just has this strange effect where the gun can take just as long to kill an Assault Trooper as it takes to kill a Brute. It's bizarre, but it's still better than the Scimitar by a wide margin.

Sorry man. Back then everybody thought things were pretty decent.

Then the Krysae/Reegar came
Then the Piranha came
and those weapons upped the ante in their respective categories by a huge margin. 

To the point where almost every other weapon in their categories became redundant compared to them.

If the weapon was removed entirely I wouldn't blink an eye. Though, in hindsight, that may because it's terrible (the shortcomings you mentioned).

I could make you one. What would you like it to say? Would you like the design to differ from the raptor one? If so in what way? Details is all I need, just remember the BSN has terrible sig restrictions so there's not a lot of room.

The Scimitar needs it's edge back and it would have the gun along with maybe the sword in fancy writing.
