I've been playing through with my squadies having cryo ammo on the particle rifle and they are essential moving freeze beams. It's ridiculous because if you use overload/energy drain to get rid of the sheilds they turn the enemies into fragile icecicles. Not to mention that with this combo reapers are a joke, I mean, there's no challenge with them any more.

A Falcon might be better than the Particle Rifle if you're gonna do that. Falcon has stagger and applies the ammo power with every single shot, plus it has an area of effect to get multiple targets simultaneously.
I assume you're playing as the Infiltrator, Soldier, or Vanguard since squadmates don't have Cryo Ammo. If you're playing as the Infiltrator you can spec Incinerate to do extra damage to frozen targets and you have access to Sabotage to get +100% Tech Damage. Everything just melts if you Sabotage/Cryo/Incinerate everything. It's amazing.
