I've just completed Redcliffe Castle, my first quest since setting out from Lothering.
At this point, am I supposed to head to Denerim to search out the Urn of Sacred Ashes, or should I attempt to complete the other Treaty Quests first?
Thanks for the advice!

You may want to go to the circle tower; the quest will provide you a few free attribute points. If you are new to the game and it's mechanics, you may want to do orzammar and sacred ashes questline later. However it's your choice and there's actually no best sequence of doing the quests.

What Blazomancer said.

There are meta reasons to do Orzammar and the Mages Tower earlier rather than later. If by chance you have the Stone Prisoner DLC (it's part of the Ultimate edition), you may want to do that quest before anything.

You can basically go wherever you want at this point but Orzammar, Sacred Ashes or Denerim can be a bit difficult and might be better left for later. Unless you have a reason to go there, as mousestalker said.

I used to follow this order: Redcliffe -> Circle Tower -> Sacred Ashes -> Brecilian Forest -> Orzammar. I'm not sure about Denerim. I've never done it before finishing the Sacred Ashes though. This order made the most sense for me, storywise. However, I've been experimenting lately and went to Brecilian Forest first and it seems to be easier than Sacred Ashes which I found a bit frustrating during my first playthrough.

At this point I choose based upon who is the PC. A city elf warden might want to head to Denerim first as it's familiar ground. A Dalish Warden might want to see what's happening in the Brecilian Forest. A dwarven warden might want to return to Orzammar or put that off as long as possible. Likewise for a mage. It makes a great deal of sense for a Cousland to head directly to Redcliffe.

One thing to keep in mind is that you generally do not have to finish a quest to start another. There are a couple of exceptions to this, and they can be trouble, but typically you can stop in the middle and go off and do something else.

{It's really hard discussing this without spoilers, by the way}

I tend to drop by Denerim early to get the xp booster belt from Wonders of Thedas.

This is how I usually do it:

1) Complete Mage Tower quest, because this can be useful at Redcliffe if you so choose
2) Redcliffe
3) Orzammar (get this out of the way, because I hate it)
4) Brecilian Forest
5) Denerim
6) Urn of Sacred Ashes

But honestly, it doesn't really matter. It's all preference, and you have to do them all anyways to advance the story.
