I started a 2nd playthru and found out I could not change my designation but that seem to be the way.
My char was imported from Me2.....thus stared the game with a helluva lot of points 60 I think.
Now I have completed 1 run, I'm maybe halfway thru and have only two 6 point slots left.
So does that mean extra points will accumulate with nowhere to use them?
It was a legit import and this has occured with other chars as they go thru.
Seems like choosing a new game works better except that the default choices are not ones I like or want to run with.
what I remember is lvl 31 on the mars prothean mission at the beginning

I take it you have not selected a bonus power? You can choose a bonus power from the Medical Bay on the Normandy.

Assuming you have a bonus power, by level 57 you will have enough points to max out all powers (including your passive and Fitness talents) except one. Without a bonus power, you can max out all powers by level 57.

No I have selected Bonus power and changed it.
I haven't got there yet but it feels like there will be an excess of points with no where to put them?

No, you can't max all the powers at Level 60 if you have a bonus power. You will be able to max all of them except one, which will be leveled half way.

If you didn't have a bonus power at all then you could potentially max every power.

I found when I reached level 60, I had spare points.

3 spare points. 181 points.

Did anyone manage to spend all 181 points?
Is it even possible?

I imagine it is possible to use them all up, but would require not maxing out a tree or two. But otherwise, no, you'll always have that.
