Shes not a girl. Shes an alien. bioware can cater to anyone they want. If it was so easy to influence bioware a lot of things, hell a lot of things would be different.

They still havent given me an option to throw Allers out the airlock. Damit.

What was her age originally before they changed it to 22? I didnt read it. Keep in mind she is on her pilgrimage on her own. She can't possibly that young anymore, if you judge her by human terms.

Absolutely love that questline. Especially since you can just murder most of the Councilors to get your way. Image IPB

I've been more partial to the Redoran myself, but man is the Telvani stronghold cool.

The Telvanni stronghold is definitely the best. Damn I have to replay Morrowind soon.

What problem is there? You are talking 22 years old and 29. That is acceptable. Now if she was 16 it would be unacceptable. Tali may have been naive being cloistered in the flotilla all her life but she was an adult woman. Disclaimer: I have NEVER romanced Tali so don't even go there.

The issue is that at the time of Mass Effect 1, Tali was not written as a character of 20 years. This is evident from her mannerisms and especially her voice.

People grow up, and the character is very much presented as an actual adult in ME2, but my issue is that she was re-written to appease a group within the fanbase that were disappointed they couldn't romance her in the first game.

Just because your voice tone is high does not mean you're young....

It generally does, when you're young and it deepens dramatically within a few years.

Yeah if you're human which Tali isn't and as far as i know there have been nothing told about the phonetic development of the quarians and that's not even factoring in that you hear Tali though translation.

Do you know that Mass Effect is a video game?

In media, and especially when dealing with 'non'humans' it's common practice to use look and sound to pass on information about the character to the viewer. Her voice was purposefully high because they wished to make her seem young. It's rather simple.

Nope.

Round 1 was to vote on the Shepard. Not the hair, not the face, the whole thing. There was nothing to indicate otherwise.

It was only after the petty comments and insults towards women with blonde hair that the secondary poll was set up.

Which is why they changed and ending of ME3 after a bunch of comments and insults directed towards it, oh wait. I voted for the redhead because I didn't want a Samus clone, and thought femshep deserved to have her own image since she is one of the best female protagonists in gaming history and my personaly favorite game lead, but enjoy your soapbox.

She didn't start her Pilgrimage alone, she had a whole team. Saren had then hunted down on Illium and she had to stow away on a ship to the Citadel.

It doesn't matter.

The blonde won, what was presented as being, the sole poll to determine her look.

BioWare went back on this after all the whining. It was disgusting.

Your entire argument relies on the premise that all complainers are/were misogynists. And his/her providing contradictory evidence doesn't matter? Image IPB

A bunch of BS repeated by man hating feminists with a victim complex.

I bet half the people here don't know what misandry is yet it's everywhere.

Problem, you assume an alien girl who is 22 and who had to endure all she went through wouldn't act like that.

That is your problem, they didn't retcon anything. Get your head out of your behind and go romance Jack or Miranda if it bothers you so much.

Are you saying she went from teenager to young woman in two years? That is ridiculous, good thing that doesn't happen irl!

Also, some of the fans are teenagers, is it really so weird they could find Tali's personality charming? When you see younger sister, some see potential love interest.

The biggest retcon is Tali's age?

I'm assuming this thread is satire.

I mean 'it doesn't matter' as in the sense that it can't be changed now.

But no, my argument doesn't rely on that at all. Anyone that was here for the whole mess knows that a huge portion of complaints were laced with anti-blonde remarks. There was enough complaining to get BioWare to change the blonde hair.

What do you think would have happened if people complained that the black Shepard won?

The reapers definitely. Not only do they go from indipendent space-cthulhus to basically mindless tools, they lose all design differentiation in the process.

Both are valid complaints, just not in this particular thread.

I'm just feeling very disillusioned with BioWare right now.

The three examples in my opening post are examples of how they have been forced to make changes that actively made the game worse, not just for me, but for a lot of people. And hurt a lot of women's feelings in the process.

I actually think that i'm glad Mass Effect is over. It had one of the worst communities, of any entertainment franchise, ever. The misogyny and idiocy that was allowed to run rampant sickens me to my stomach.

I'm glad to see that a lot of people in this forum don't appear to be fans of Dragon Age, so hopefully that wont get tarnished for me.

I can't tell if you're mentally ill or trolling. You're probably just upset or tired...

Yeah except that the blonde hair was still an option in round 2 so it wasn't just removed for sake of complaints, if it had been it wouldn't have been an presented option, if people wanted that look it was there soooo no, just no.

Dragon Age II is the best fantasy role-playing game of all time. It's second act is by far the best thing BioWare have ever written, and it has really cool loading screens.
