I think the fact that BioWare have a proven record of altering their games to suit portions of the fanbase with undesirable traits is significant.
Specifically on the blonde thing, it is disgusting that BW allowed design policy to be dictated by the sorts of people that protested Femshep 5's election, with remakrs such as "she looks like a bimbo" and "she'd be too concerned with her nails to fight the Reapers".
I find it far more offensive that you even find this an issue. It isn't your choice.
She can be blonde, red headed, brunette, or brown haired. Suggesting otherwise is inappropropriate.
As for Tali? Who cares? It's a relationship between consenting adults. That isn't illegal in the real world. Why should it be wrong in a fictional universe?
Miranda is four years older than Shepard. Is that bad too?
If a blonde can't be taken seriously, why then can you still be a blonde.
If Tali was 22 or 20 how is that even relevant even with a Shepard at 35. What about Mordin-he's like an old man and thinks my Shepard is flirting with him in ME2. So what? It's not like Shepard was going after the kid in the vent or something in any of this. I don't get it really.
I think some of what happened in ME1 was testing the waters and the only alien relationship was Liara-just to see whether people would have a problem with it. I think other possibilities began to emerge and I truly like that aspect of ME very much. I would have rather seen that anyone could care about anyone (major character wise). I even also felt like it was kind of sad Dr. Chakwas got left out of all the fun stuff. The male shep I had created would definitely like her.
I truly like this especially when in a lot of other video games the female romance possbiliities are often prostitutes.
The main problem occurs right away in ME1 where Kaidan implies my Shepard's interest in Liara is unprofessional when what he means is he likes my Shepard himself. This made no sense since he's my subordinate and she's more of a passenger.
