BTW OP, how much money did you spend to get all the weapons? And equipment?

I play with him and I don't think he's spent any. Dude puts in a lot of time in Gold/Platinum matches.

I feel a little inadequate in the e-peen sometimes when I'm in lobbies with him and some of the other people we regularly play with since they all seem to have maxed URs and N7 ratings that make my 1710 look low.

Short answer...

No.

Long answer...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Randoms will always be bad... really bad.
It is the way games are designed, they pair sucky players with good ones for some reason... instead of letting the good people just dominate they make us carry. :pinched:

Problem is that there is way more bad players than good players. shame really.
I have a rock solid friends list full of people that are awesome at this game. Nearly all of them have been met in random games throughout the last months.
I only play with randoms to find new skilled players to play with. Have they run out? have I literally played with every decent player on xbox live? I doubt it but It seems to be harder to find them.
I do only play with randoms about once a week though. Maybe it was foolish to play with randoms on this particular weekend. Seems like the worst of the worst have logged on.

I see a whole lot of crying over perspective.... just what I expected from the internet. Once again it meets my very very very low expectations of communication.

This thread amounts to indiscernible grunts, barks, groans and possibly an attempt at basic language.

On the upside crying like this is always a source of entertainment. So I suppose a thank you is in order.

Edit: Not that I will give that thank you mind you...

Yes. It's funny how people seem to forget that perhaps weekends are the only time peeps get to play cause of unmm, well life. They may not be shiny examples of players, but this is online MP everywhere. What fun would it be if everyone played with same skill.

Thanks for the support man, looks like some of these guys must have been randoms I played with or something.

As a sucky random…I approve this message and am grateful to those idiots who don't check my load outs and kick me if it isn't good enough.

I am also gratefully to the elite, god like BSN pros that can carry me 11 waves for free credits.

Thank you.

You sounds like you have rode the coattails of one, Mr. Billy BadassME3MP Player.

and you, sir, are a better human being because of it.

It's just a game - perhaps these "random" people aren't brilliant at the game because they have more in their life than just sitting around playing games all day. Note, I'm not saying that the OP does or that anyone else here in particular does (but I'm sure some do).

Some people need to learn to relax and enjoy - rather than get irate over pixels on a screen.

I cannot share your sentiment, my worst player in the past 30 odd matches of Gold has been one guy who was AFK every other wave.

Otherwise I've been public matching with some solid guys playing U/U/G and have a bunch of new people on my friends list that I would play with again anytime.

I think you want to blame "noobs" not "randoms"
since technically arent we all randoms if we are playing PUGs?

To clarify, the original poster guy is technically complaining about leechers.. rather than PUGs. There are various level of leechers in PUGs.. I tried to cope with them, but it was about to give me stress cancer so I quit. So.. when I join random game.. and if I see a possible leechers I just quit and look for a new game. Sometime it even takes me 10 minutes to find a decent game but it is better than carrying leechers for 35 minutes in a gold game.

To be honest... I would say the exactly samething as original post to some of players I meet on-line. Especially if they were host leechers, these guys just deserve hate. Bringing your damn level 1 Eagle with no equipment and consumable and hosting Gold! How dare you press ready button first !!

How oh how do you have a maxed manifest and only 5 Promo weapons? Did you just not do some of the weekend challenges or have you really maxed you manifest in approximately 2 and a half months?

Are you the better player?

Than help the beginners. OK, sometimes I also swear in the heat of battle - but I'm not mad against my random pals after that. If the party really sucks I just leave if I have no patience to do another match with them.

Usually I play Bronze and Gold. Bronze if I promoted one of my characters and I need a few games to level up approx. lvl 10-15. I meet a lot of beginners: if I'm the more experienced player I try to help them for a few games. And of course I meet beginners in Gold games too - simply I try harder to be the most valuable player.

Think as if an extra challange of Gold: you have a good character but (s)he has to survive with beginner soldiers. As it happens every day in a galaxy attacked by the Reapers :)

I've started to graduate from Silver to Gold, but if you've got very low level characters appearing during Gold matches, bear in mind sometimes you search for Bronze to level up your character and it throws you into a completely random match (I've got Platinum before, and suddenly appearing next to two Banshees is no fun at all).

Having said that, if you aren't an Uber-Leet player (like I imagine everyone in this thread is) then their are several things you can do to do much better in Gold.

Make sure you've maxed out your common mods and weapons, and this is simply done by buying recruit packs. Get some better (or at least different) weapons by getting Veteran packs (and hopefully pick up some gears).

If you don't have all the uber Ultra Rare guns, play a support class (Infiltrator, Geth Engineer, etc) or an Adept and play at a high level (18-20).

Equip a decent assault or sniper rifle with the piercing and damage mods. The Mantis X is a decent sniper rifle. If you've got a Mattock, that's great as well.

Set your character up in such a way that they can cause tech bursts or biotic or fire explosions. These are great for crowd control of lower level enemies, and aren't fun for bigger enemies either. They also don't require awesome ultra rare weapons, just the right ability combos.

Here's a good place to start.

http://masseffect.wi...ki/Power_Combos

For players new to Gold, the most important thing to do is stick with the group. If you go off on your own, you'll get overwhelmed and killed and someone will have to come and revive you, and frankly if you are the other side of the map, and have been running off to the other side of the map every wave, and other players have got killed trying to reach you before, then no one is going to come for you because you've proved yourself to be a liability.

Stay with the team, revive other players, and if you have the worst character, then cap the objectives or carry the pizza.

The Mass Effect wiki has detailed player notes on each class, simply scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the class you want to play. It goes through how to cause explosions, if they are possible, with each character as well as suggested load outs.

If you do want to play Gold, then try the character out in Bronze and then Silver first (these two games should also net you 40k credits, enough for 8 recruit packs or 2 veteran packs if you still haven't maxed the common weapons or mods or built up enough of a pile of consumables).

If you are reliably causing explosions with a power heavy character, then you don't need to worry too much about uber weapons, because you only fire them when you're waiting for your powers to recharge, and if it is a very light common weapon then you'll have a recharge of +200% and be spamming powers.

You do want all the mods. Different weapons work well with different mods (so a Mattock with assault rifle piercing and assault rifle precision scope doubles up as a semi automatic sniper rifle) and having them at V gives the greatest effect.

Very simply, think through your character, don't go in gold until you are finding Silver lacks challenge, and go in with decent weapons and equipment designed to fit around what your character needs to do.

Sounds like you don't play well with others. You need to be in that "special" class on your own!

Try Single player.

I don't think most people have a problem with players being bad. That's cool. We were all noobs at one point. I think what Balistic's going balistic over are players who won't lift a finger and use a consumable for the team. I agree. I don't have a problem with people being bad-- in fact I really like it. Happy to help people get use to gold. Things that make me nerdrage:
1) Not reviving other players
2) Not doing objectives
3) bleeding out on an objective wave

My only problem regarding PUGs is that nobody uses equipment. Why not?

I mean, i can't think of a pack where you don't get equipment. It's just lazy or stupid not to use these things, because you'll never run out of equipment. Never.

Ive seen lots of posts from people saying they wont waste a consumable on a pug.
But isn't that exactly what its for? If youre playing with 2 or 3 friends then you shouldnt need consumables (in gold). Its a cake walk. Consumables are just for a pissing contest on the scoreboard. You use consumables on pugs if it looks like the team is.....questionable.
