I play bronze, my level. Sometimes, the game throws me into a silver, and twice into a gold. Of course I was awful, but not my fault. When I realized the problem, I quit the mission.

Ever get thrown into a Platnium? that was strikingly easier to me than Gold, might be because of the range of enemies makes it easier on my QFE.

You need to stop ruining the game for others. Your attitude is horrible and needs to be dealt with. I wish players like you would get banned for your crap elitist attitude. Maybe the reason your so upset is that you were "good" until you played with randoms and realized you were not so good after all. Maybe you should pick a new hobby instead of video games, or get yourself some professional help.

I don't have many BSN friends so im nearly always exlcusively PUGing away when playing and have met many good players. Not all randoms are noobs and many of them do try their best for the team.

Totally. My friends play different times than me so we rarely play together. Maybe get togther once a week. I'm mostly playing Public. So many great players out there! And if you get stuck with a less expereinced team, it adds to the challenge.

Just roll with it or don't play public matches.

Platinum without Gear? For which difficulty is he saving his gear???
Or he doesn't have any? In that case he probably wasn't very successful on his previous Silver or Gold Games as well!

Anyway, just kick him. He'd probably quit on Wave 2 or 3 anyways, because he isn't invested in the Game.

Actually, with a bit of careful selecting, which games you join, it´s like a 80% success rate. Meaning, No chars under level 20, no slayers/shadows spamming biotic/electric strikes, no soldiers , no stupid loadouts and so on... there are plenty of good platinum random lobbies out there. Just takes a helll of a time to find them between the millions of terribads-preprogrammed to fail team compositions.

i agree with that lvl20 requirement. the others...i don't. only an ignorant says "no soldiers", "no biotic/electric strikes". a good player CAN be effective with soldier. strike-spamming CAN be useful. you never know...and i play only batarian soldier, and i sometimes (rarely) use electric strike on my shadow. a good player can make a difference. i judge only by the weapon and gear loadout -  it tells everything about what i should expect, not the character he/she uses.

Randoms are terribad. Regularly have to solo platinum starting wave 1, and usually 99 percent chance of soloing two waves between 7-9. I have screenshots of some of my more horrible pugs.

No?  Why not?  If you cannot make up for the random's shortfalls, then you must be just as good as they are.

When you are the one doing all the objectives and clutching half the waves, this means you are carrying them. I would not have to carry them if they were any good.

maybe one day you will understand that you are a burden to the good players in the lobby. But for you I would say that it is unlikely you will ever find yourself able to clutch wave 9 on a gold match. 
I can do it, and often have. But that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. This game is much more enjoable when you work as a team to do the waves. 

But as you are probably a dead weight in most lobbies you are in, this comment will probably sail right over your useless, empty head.

Is it wrong to think that a silver standard player should play on silver? 
I have no qualms with low lvl players. I do however take issue when someone who is not a gold standard player brings a poorly thought out character with no gear or equipment into a gold match.

a player who would rather fail than use one of his precious med gels. This is the type of player that i refer to as a random. A player who has no real ambition towards winning the mach or contributing in any way.
If you choose to defend that type of player or if you are one yourself, well from me to you - Go F**k yourself.

You're absolutely correct. There are way too many lousy players who should be playing Bronze, yet they attempt to play Gold instead, looking to be carried. I can't stand this type of parasitic player.

Actually a buddy of mine used that earlier today, I was rocking the slayer with the kishok harpoon gun and striker (which was just dead weight). We were playing with two randoms so we decided just to use crazy classes for fun. We obliterated the game. He was charging in and using typhoon point blank. and I was using phase disrupter to decimate shields then lining up a charge so that my fully charged kishok would fire as i charged killing everything in my path. It was ridiculously effective.
This is a mini game we play where you pick the glass and guns for your buddy and they do the same for you.

The skill of the player is what makes classes effective.

anyway i reply back somehting to the effect of "being carried or farming isn't the same as being ready to play an actual gold match" I ignored teh stupid comments about having 2 URs unlocked or the fact he hans't played eveyrhting through or all teh other stuff. he replaies back "no and No"

So i sent him back another saying somehting like  i'm not trying to talk down I just think you need more practice and experiance before moving up." and didn't get a response back. I could have helped him if he wans't a cocky kid who was too ignorant to learn.

This is why randoms are bad. they don't care about ruining others games, they think they are better then they are in reality, and they don't care to learn. once the vets move on players like this will be all thats left and the success rate of gold and paltinum will be less then 1%

exactly. but if you lack skill shouldn't you use an easy class that can contribute w/o needing any skill like a demolisher or a clas that puts out a ton of damage like a GI?

@upinya - Sounds like you do too much thinking regarding other players. Also, if you let them play, you cannot blame them for a poor showing if that is what you expected and let them stay regardless.


Randoms are fine, stupid ones are not. However, one shouldn't worry about it or let a failed game or tougher game with them get to you. Play and let play, I say.

Exactly.  I think they happen to get carried on a Gold match once or twice, then all of a sudden they get the idea they should be playing Gold regularly.  They tend to be totally delusional about their own abilities.
